
Samurai Sentai Shinkenger (侍戦隊シンケンジャー ) is a Super Sentai Series for 2009, aired together in Super Hero Time with Kamen Rider Decade. The series' motif is that of traditional Japanese culture.

The Shinkengers
Using the Characters Powers, these five teenagers can transform into the Shinkengers to combat the Gedoushu. Each Shinkenger has its own Origami.
Shinken Red/Shiba Takeru
The 18th head of the Shiba line and descendant of feudal lords, Takeru was reared since childhood by Old Man to accomplish his family's legacy. He is referred by others Shinkengers as Lord. His upbringing made him create a facade to look very arrogant and proud to others, claiming none can match his strength and greatness while try to keep his cool in any situation. As he can control the power of fire, he is the Samurai of Fire.
Shinken Blue/Ryunosuke Ikenami
Ryunosuke is a very serious young man who dreamt of becoming a japanese dance-drama actor in spite of his parents' wish for him to be a samurai. Though a loner, he takes his role as Takeru's retainer seriously. As he can control the power of water, he is the Samurai of Water.
Shinken Pink/Mako Shiraishi
Mako is a gentle-hearted girl who fights for her ideals. She loves children and worked at a kindergarten as a volunteer to becoming a retainer. As she can control the power of wind, she is the Samurai of Sky.
Shinken Green/Tani Chiaki
Though cheerful and honest, Chiaki had no interest in becoming a retainer and often clashes with Takeru. Although he is the weakest Samurai in the group as he abandoned his training early, Chiaki is a great strategist in surprise attacks. As he can control the power of wood, he is the Samurai of Wood.
Shinken Yellow/Kotoha Hanaori
Kotoha is a pure-hearted girl who worked in a bamboo shop and is skilled in martial arts. She became Takeru's retainer to replace her ill older sister. As she can control the power of earth, she is the Samurai of Earth.
Shinkenger's allies
They are non-villians character in Shinkenger, either on Shinkengers side or no side.
Hikoma Kusakabe
He is Takeru's retainer and guardian, Hikoma is the team's mentor and gathered the four vassals when the Gedoshu revived. The Shinkengers call him Old Man (Jii).
Kuroko
The Shiba family's servants who like their namesakes "set up" the scenery during the Shinkengers' transformation, and are not directly involved in combat. They often do chores when the Shinkengers are not in battle.

These weapons are used in the Shinkenger fights.
Transformation Cellphone Calligraphy Phone
The Calligraphy Phone is the Shinkengers' transformation device. After using the call "A stroke of pen, report to the lord" (Ippitsu Soujyou) they use a calligraphy brush that folds out of the phone to draw the elemental kanji that represents them in the air. They spin the kanji around, and it then forms their suit around them. The Calligraphy Phone is also used in summoning the Origami and combining the Origami into a Samurai Giant. The Calligraphy Phone can also be used to summon other items with the proper kanji.
Secret Playback Katana Shinken Maru
The Shinken Maru is the Shinkengers' primary sidearm. It is first activated by taking any of the Secret Disks from a compartment on the Shinkengers' belts and attaching it to the hilt to become the guard. By spinning that Secret Disk, the ShinkenMaru acts as a praxinoscope and it powers up depending on the disk itself. By spinning the Common Secret Disks fast enough, the Shinkenmaru transforms into the Shinkengers' personal weapon. Using a personal Secret Disk allows a Shinkenger to execute a Spiral Sword attack depending on the element that the disk represents. The five Spiral Sword elemental attacks can be used in the Quintuple Sword attack.
Secret Disk
Secret Disk can be used on ShinkenMaru or Shinkenger's personal weapon.
Common Disk
A Secret Disk that allows the Shinkengers to access their personal weapons.
Shishi Disk
Shinken Red's personal Secret Disk that allows him to perform his Spiral Sword technique: Dancing Blaze
Ryu Disk
Shinken Blue's personal Secret Disk that allows him to perform his Spiral Sword techniques: Water Curtain and Dancing Current
Kame Disk
Shinken Pink's personal Secret Disk that allows her to perform her Spiral Sword techniques: Dancing Sky
Kuma Disk
Shinken Green's personal Secret Disk that allow him to perform his Spiral Sword techniques: Dancing Wintry Wind
Saru Disk
Shinken Yellow's personal Secret Disk that allow her to perform her Spiral Sword techniques: Dancing Cloud of Dust
Lightning Disk
A Secret Disk that allows Shinken Red to perform the Spiral Sword technique: Dancing Thunderblot
Kabuto Disk
Shinken Red's secondary Secret Disk that allows him to summon the Kabuto Origami. It able Raging Fire Great Cutting Sword to transform into Gun Mode.
Shinkengers' personal weapon
These weapons are summoned via turning the common Secret Disk on Shinken Maru.
Two-Mode Transforming Raging Fire Great Cutting Sword
The Raging Fire Great Cutting Sword is Shinken Red's personal weapon. It has a horse-chopping saber-like mode which Shinken Red can use perform the "Many Flowers Profusionary Bloom attack". By inserting an alternate disk, the Raging Fire Great Cutting Sword can assume a gun mode, that can hold the team's personal Secret Disks to fire the Kabuto Five Rings Bullet with the Kabuto Disk.
Water Arrow
The Water Arrow is Shinken Blue's bow-like weapon with which he can perform the "Clear and Serene".
Heaven Fan
The Heaven Fan is Shinken Pink's personal Japanese war fan-like weapon with which she can perform the "Full Impact attack".
Wood Spear
The Wood Spear is Shinken Green's personal spear-like weapon with which he can perform the attacks "Talented Late Bloomer" and "Foilage Concealment".
Land Slicer
The Land Slicer is Shinken Yellow's personal star-like weapon with which she can perform the "All Out Endeavor attack".
Origami
Origami are Shinkengers mecha, it was the Shinkenger's element kanji on it. The five main Origami are normally in Emblem Mode until they assume Animal Mode to support their masters. By using the Calligraphy Phone and the word "Big" kanji, it can be in enlarged into giants with the Shinkengers using their Shinken Maru as control sticks. The Shinkengers shout "Origami Enlargement" when they are summoning.
Shishi Origami
Shinken Red's Origami that forms the main body, normally in its pentagon shaped Emblem Form. In battle, the Shishi Origami charges at the enemy to execute its Pentagon Grand Blaze attack.
Ryu Origami
Shinken Blue's Origami that forms the left leg and helmet, normally in its hexagon shaped Emblem Form. In battle, the Ryu Origami is able to shoot a stream of blue fire in its Dragon Waterfall attack.
Kame Origami
Shinken Pink's Origami that forms the right arm, normally in its circle shaped Emblem Form. While giant and in emblem form, the Kame Origami can create a whirlwind while spinning towards its opponent.
Kuma Origami
Shinken Green's Origami that forms the right leg, normally in its square shaped Emblem Form. In battle, it is able to stand up and use its claws.
Saru Origami
Shinken Yellow's Origami that forms the left arm, normally in its triangle shaped Emblem Form. In battle, it uses its fists in punching attacks.
Kabuto Origami
An orange-colored support Origami summoned from the Kabuto Disk, the Kabuto Origami can twist its head to use its horn to trip an enemy or fire energy blasts from long distances. On Shinken-Oh, the Kabuto Origami adds shoulder armaments and an alternate helmet.
Samurai Transformation
The Samurai Giants are the various combinations of the Origami.
Samurai Gattai Shinken-Oh
It's formed when the Shinkengers write the kanji for "unite" to make their Origami combine. It is armed with the Great Shinken and a giant Secret Disk that doubles as the Secret Shield. The Shishi Origami head on its body can breathe fire in the Shishi Blaze Roar attack, takes to the air with the "Dragon Rising Leg" and separate from the Kame Origami to execute the "Turtle Heaven Fist". Its finishing attack is the "Samurai Chop". It can combine with support Origami by performing Samurai Armaments.
Samurai Gattai Kabuto Shinken-Oh
Combining with the Kabuto Origami when the kanji for "Kabuto" is written, Shinken-Oh becomes Kabuto Shinken-Oh. In this form, Kabuto Shinken-Oh is able to unlease a torrent of firepower in its Kabuto Cannon attack. Kabuto Shinken-Oh's final attack is the Kabuto Great Revolving Cannon, spinning its helmet to produce a fireball to launch at the enemy.
Gedoshu
Gedoshu are the main villians in Shinkenger. They are malevolent spirits living in the Rokumon Junk that sails along the Sanzu River in the land of the dead, dependant on its waters for surival and cursed to be in state between life and death. Able to enter our world through cracks and narrow gaps, they set up a plan to terrorize humans in anyway possible so that the river overflows to point of flooding into the mortal realm in order for them to invade in full fury.
Blood Feast Doukoku
He is the leader of the Gedoshu and is armed with a broadsword. Generations ago, he battled the Shiba Family and died in an attempt to destroy the Shinkengers. He was revives and begins leading his forces in conquering the mortal realm. He is in a constant state of rage that only sake and Dayu's music can control.
Thin-Skinned Dayu
She is Doukoku's right hand and the only one he is kind to as long as she knows her place as his servant and obeys without question. She loves to collect beautiful things, and plays the shamisen, creating eerie and unsettling songs that usually soothe her master's rage. However, she has trouble getting along with the Ayakashi which in turn annoy Doukoku as the reason for these confrontations relate to her past.
Bony Shitari
He is the Gedoshu's strategist, a squid-headed demon who awaited for Doukoku's revival. Shitari sees humans as mere specimens for his research, uncovering means to overflow the Sanzu River.
Nanashi
The Nanashi Company are the Gedoshu's foot soldiers, armed with various weapons, they can freely enter the mortal realm at whim. There is a group of Nanashi known as the Onanashi Company who are naturally born giant.
Ayakashi
Ayakashi are ancient spirits with nightmarish forms that serve the Gedoshu, dwelling within the depths of the Sanzu River until being summoned to go through the gap. However, they can only remain in the mortal world until they begin to dry up, returning to the Sanzu River to regain their moisture. Each Ayakashi has two lives, the second life allowing them to enlarge once they are slain in human-size battle.
