Character Synopsis
We are first introduced to Otoya during the middle of Aso Yuri's investigation of th Horse Fangire. As She was being chased from the Fangire by his unknowing security guards, she bumped into Otoya after making a quick change in clothing and hugged him. Giving the two guards chasing her the idea that she and Otoya were just a couple sharing a tender moment, they left. However as Yuri also attempted to make her way, Otoya stopped her. Thinking that she just comes up to him and embraces him like such and not taking it further isn't fair. After making a small effort to tempt her, he is unfortunately thrown back into some shrubs. Later on when Yuri caught up with the Fangire, Otoya showed up as well. This time embracing Yuri instead, assuming she was feeling lonely, he unknowingly allowed the Horse Fangire to escape. And with that, his face was met with Yuri's fist.
While coaching Miyazawa Hitomi, Yuri had entered where she was practicing. Stating that she was her manager, she went over Hitomi's daily schedule. Otoya who had been inconspicuously seated, expressed disagreement with it and was very soon accused of not belonging in the room. Luckily he was vouched for by Ms. Miyazawa, mentioning of how he was a superb violinist in the past. But when Yuri expressed disbelief, Otoya decided to play a short song. Introducing himself, he exited the room, but not before saying to Yuri that he is her man of fate.

After again finding Yuri, who was this time looking for Ms. Miyazawa, Otoya once again tried to put the moves on Yuri. Thinking that she sent Ms. Miyazawa away so he and Yuri could be alone, he was quickly shoved away, believing her to play hard to get. Eventually catching up with Yuri and Ms. Miyazawa, he believed the two to be fighting over him. However as he saw Miyazawa transform into the Octopus Fangire, he soon realized that the situation was not as what he originally believed. As Yuri went on fighting Miyazawa, Otoya felt impressed by her strength.
After the fight, Otoya approached Yuri. Trying to hit on her again he was only shot down just like the other times. However this time he counted on that as he pick pocketed Yuri's Fangire Slayer. Taking the weapon the fight Hitomi, he soon caught up with her. Expressing his disgust of her using music as a means to lure an kill, he attacked. However after displaying some competent fighting skill with the weapon, and managing to land a few lucky shots, Miyazawa escaped.
Sometime later while an engaged couple were looking for a wedding dress, Otoya expressed his dislike for the dress in terms of the woman who wanted it. Stating his disliking for weddings, he proclaimed a woman with beauty of her magnitude doesn't need to be married. Falling for Otoya immediately after his one sided fight with her finance, they decided to leave. However as Otoya and the woman made their way, another woman who sparked his interest crossed his sights. Immediately ditching the previous woman with her unconscious fiance, he decided to leave with the other woman. But just as he was about to leave with her, Yuri showed up demanding her weapon back. After leaving the woman and teasing Yuri with her Fangire Slayer, The Moth Fangire attacked. Still in possession of Yuri's weapon, Otoya decided to engage in combat. Holding his own for a short while, he was eventually restrained by the Fangire. But shortly after Yuri got hold of her weapon and landed a few blows, the Fangire made use of it's explosive dust as a distraction and fled.
At some point later on, Otoya decided to stop at Mald'amour. Claiming to be there as a customer, Yuri took his order. After asked for Yuri only, he was asked to leave. Abiding by the command, Otoya proposed that they leave together. However Just as he tried to persuade Yuri even further, another customer at the counter end of the cafe took hold of Otoya and threw him clean out of Mal'amour. Just as he tried to run right back in, Yuri immediately shut the door. Causing him to collide with the door and collapsing on the spot.
The next day in Mald'amour's parking lot. Otoya approached Yuri, demanding to know where the man who threw him out was. After stating the two things he hated most in the world, engagement and men who are against him, that very man appeared and hits him to the ground. With the leather clad man stating that a cafe is a sacred place among the world, the two begin a fist fight. Yuri being bored with it all, decided to go about her business and left.

Later in the day, after learning of Yuri's capture at the hands of a Fangire while he and the other man were duking it out, Shima Mamoru personally requested that Otoya rescue her. Claiming that he would have one to rescue her anyway, he decided to leave. But just as Otoya got up, his curiosity in the man he was talking to was sparked. After being asked who he was, Shima proclaimed to be a head of the Wonderful Blue Sky Organization, a secret group of people who fight the Fangires for humanity's safety. Further stating that Yuri's apart of the Organization, Otoya agreed, but under the condition that he be allowed to join the Organization so as to be with Yuri. With the conditions on the table, Shima approved.
Heading to the scene of the abduction, Otoya found himself stuck in the situation as there are no clues as to her whereabouts. After looking around the place for maybe a slight hint, Jiro, the man from before, arrived telling Otoya to follow him. Leading him to an abandoned amusement park, Otoya inquires as to why Jiro helped him. Jiro Claiming he could not hate a man who would risk himself for the woman he cares for, the two then exchange their own crude formalities and parted ways. Making his way into the park, Otoya is about to take the advantage of surprise on the unsuspecting Itoya Ryo (The Spider Fangire) while he's applying nail polish on Yuri, but apparently fails to do so.
Later on, as he claims himself to be a failure, Yuri tells him not to give up. Being told to take the necklace she's wearing, Otoya immediately understands why. Eventually handing it to Yuri to he can be cut free, Yuri asks Otoya why he keeps going after her. Otoya goes on to say that he believes that everyone gives off a kind of music, even if they don't know it. And that the music that emits from Yuri is quite to his liking. After her expressing some positive thoughts on his philosophy, Otoya instantly assumed that she was falling for him. However before Otoya could've been cut free, Ryo comes back with the Wedding dress he picked for Yuri to wear.
After somehow freeing himself form his restraints, Otoya eventually makes it to the spot where Ryo was preparing his ceremony with Yuri. Enraged by his presence, Ryo immediately reverts to his true form. Otoya ready for combat with a pair of Metal pipes, attacks the Fangire. Holding his own for some time, Ryo eventually takes the advantage and quickly throws Otoya to the other side of the room. As he hits the wall and then the floor, he looses consciousness.
Sometime later as he was walking into Mald'amour, Otoya overheard Yuri saying that the Organization needed new members, and that she had someone in mind. Believing it to be himself, Otoya comes in, claiming that now they can be together. Shima then recalls the deal he made with Otoya. However Yuri immediately claims that it wasn't Otoya, despite his saying otherwise. Given the uncertainty of the situation, Shima gives Otoya another chance to join.
Later on as Yuri followed Jiro, Otoya decided to tag along. Wanting to know as to why they were following him, Yuri stated that Mald'amour's regular customers were possibly being targeted by Fangires. Being that he's a regular customer, he might be attacked. However Otoya, trying to dissuade Yuri, claims that Jiro can take care of himself and then performs a magician's trick. As he pulled a long piece of paper from his mouth it distracted Yuri. Shortly noticing that she lost Jiro, Otoya was then bludgeoned by a near by rock that Yuri had found.

The next day, as the group went over their failure to find out of Mald'amour's customers were being targeted by Fangires. Otoya openly assured himself that he was soon to be a member of the Organization. However as Yuri left after Jiro, Kido wouldn't allow him to leave, Proclaiming that no one leaves the cafe until the coffee is drank. When Otoya expressed his disliking for coffee, Kido commanded his puppy, Buruman to attack him. But luckily as Yuri was trailing Jiro again, Otoya caught up with her as she was just attacked by an unseen foe. As it seemed that Yuri was the next target, Otoya proclaimed that it be he to protect her.
Later on as it was now both Otoya and Jiro tailing Yuri, Otoya asked for Jiro's hometown, claiming that Jiro should head back there at Otoya's expense even. But as Otoya tried to get rid of Jiro more, a strange man came up to Yuri. After shoving his things into Jiro's arms, Otoya ran for and attacked the stranger. However before he could attack the man any further, Yuri painfully held him back. Explaining that the man was simply flirting with her. As a police officer arrived on the scene, Yuri quickly requested for Otoya's arrest. Eventually escaping the cop, he caught up with Yuri and Jiro as they found another Mald'amour regular victim.
Back at Mald'amour, while being forced to spend the night there for overdosing on drinking a specially concocted blend Kido made Otoya drink, Otoya had followed Yuri out as Kido was closing the cafe. Noticing that she was being attacked by some strange creature, Otoya decided to interfere. Taking the a hit from the creature's pressurized water projectiles as Yuri was running away. Unfortunately it was slightly in vein as Yuri did not see Otoya's selfless act.
Sometime later at Mald'amour, Otoya stopped by proclaiming that he now has a valid means of getting into the Organization. However as Shima still questioned it, Yuri proposed that he actually be allowed to join…. The Alaska branch. Insulted, Otoya decided he didn't want part of the Wonderful Blue Sky Organization. Instead opting to create the "Wonderful Love Aso Yuri Organization". However as he tried to put his hands on Yuri's shoulders, Yuri punched him with enough force to hit the ceiling, knocking him out.
Later on, Shima talked with Otoya about the Black Star violin and how those who have recently won it through auction have died. But as Kido interjected, telling Shima to stay away from Otoya and for Otoya to leave, Kido's puppy showed Otoya affection. However as Otoya was going to allow Buruman to lick his face, Kido immediately snatched the dog away. As Kido put the dog away, Otoya couldn't help but question as to why Kido kept playing Onyanko Club. After Kido's explaining that it was because of being a fan of Onyanko Club and of it's 32nd member, Otoya couldn't help but compliment that they weren't that great.
Later that night, having been interested in the Black Star story that Shima had told him earlier, Otoya decided to look into it. Attending the auction wearing a more nationally familiar mask as the auction was in the theme of a masquerade. He kept raising the bid on the violin, trying to outprice Yuri and Jiro. Unfortunately when the two had enough of his antics, Jiro had applied pressure to a specific nerve on Otoya's neck, rendering him unconscious.

After catching Yuri poorly playing the first time and being subdued by Jiro again, Otoya found Yuri playing again at a bay area later in the day. As he commanded her to stop playing, a stranger in a hat and sunglasses deemed her unworthy of owning the Black Star. But just as Otoya agreed that he couldn't say it better, the man immediately transformed into the Frog Fangire. Deciding tho attack the Fangire, Otoya didn't last long as he was soon thrown over the edge into the bay water. But as soon as he had crawled back to shore, he witnessed something he had not expected. Jiro was a Fangire as transformed to fight the Frog Fangire.
Returning to Mald'amour Otoya felt it best to immediately warn Yuri of Jiro. Unfortunately, however, Yuri wouldn't have any of it. After being accused that he's just jealous of failing to get into the Organization instead of Jiro, Jiro had walked in. Otoya Inquiring if Jiro had been planning to eat everyone, he immediately tried to confess that his taste very much wouldn't be to Jiro's liking.
Later on that day as the Frog Fangire reappeared to take the Black Star, Otoya once again tried to attack him. Once again being thrown away, this time down some stairs into Yuri. After tumbling down to the bottom, Otoya took the chance to switch violin cases while Jiro and Yuri were distracted with the Fangire. However just as Otoya believed himself to have gotten away with the switch, Jiro appeared before him. After Being asked why he wanted the Black star whether it be wanting to be in the organization, to be bait or to protect Yuri, Otoya couldn't help but ask as to why Jiro, a Fangire, hunts and kills other Fangires. But as Jiro claimed not to be a Fangire, Otoya tried to go through. When Jiro had tried to stop him, Otoya pickpocketed Jiro's Fangire Slayer and Warned Jiro that he wouldn't allow him to harm Yuri. Handing the weapon back to Jiro, Otoya made his way home.
When he arrived home and got a good look at the Black Star, he couldn't help but notice the presence of the Fangire from before standing behind him. Asking as to why the Fangite wont attack him, the creature claims that he's curious if Otoya's worthy of owning the violin that he created. Otoya impressed by the Fangire's craftsmanship claims that if the Black Star is his reason for killing people, then he should destroy it. However just as he's about to, he stops. Realizing that it's not the violin at fault, he decides to let it be. As the Fangire wanted him to play, Otoya declines, claiming that there are times when one should play and shouldn't. Pointing out that his own violin is not quite performing the way it should, The Fangire opts to fixing it in exchange for hearing Otoya perform.
After having the violin been fixed by the Fangire, Otoya kept his end of the deal. As he played the newly repaired instrument, the Fangire was shocked at Otoya's skill. After finishing the song, the Fangire expressed his wanting Otoya to have the Black Star. However Otoya disagreed, stating that he's not meant to have it. But putting that topic aside, Otoya wondered what he should do with the Fangire. As he openly wondered what should be done, the Fangire claimed that he will not attack humans anymore. Otoya skeptical of the words of a monster, questioned whether or not to believe him. But the Fangire interjected, claiming that as long as he had Otoya's music on tape he could suppress his hunger. Otoya convinced of the promise with the Fangire, went so far as to help him escape from Yuri and Jiro.

As spring time rolled around, Otoya made sure to meet up with Yuri, first thing. Noticing her good mood, he openly assumed it was his presence that did it. After disagreeing, Yuri claimed that he good mood was because she was finally receiving something that she had been longing for, and that Otoya's antics couldn't phase her this time. However as the two headed down into an underground parking lot, they were Ambushed by the Earwig Fangire. Imediatly thrown against the wall and knocked out. Otoya didn't come too till the time just before IXA as finishing off the Fangire. After IXA deactivated, revealing the user to be Jiro, Yuri stormed off.
Later in the day while practicing in a green house, Yuri showed up giving applause for his performance. Inquiring if she wished for a date, she'd have to come another time as he is spending his time with music. However just as Yuri had expressed that she did want to go out with him, Otoya quickly changed his mind on the situation and immediately chased after her.
Taking her first to a restaurant, it was there that he witnessed Yuri's large appetite as she had scarfed down near a dozen plates of food before he had even finished his first. Taking the date next to an amusement park where at first Otoya seemed to be enjoying himself, but soon grew sick of the various rides they had went on. Eventually taking a boat ride, much to Otoya's dismay. Fearing she's rock the boat to the point of tipping over, Yuri unexpectedly decided to dive into the water. After Yuri imploring Otoya to follow in her actions, Otoya jumped in, but ran into difficulty as he lacked the ability to swim. After drying out on shore, Yuri had proposed to do other things. However Otoya wasn't interested. With Yuri saying that he's just embarrassed for not knowing hot to swim, Otoya claims that she's being someone she's not. And that someone is not a person he's liking.
Later that night, Otoya decided to talk to Jiro. Asking him for IXA, Jiro refused. After trying to throw a punch, Jiro made Otoya realize the futility of fighting. With no other options left, Otoya got on his hands and knees and begged. As it started to rain, Yuri Showed up and joined Otoya in begging. As Otoya heard Yuri's reasons for her desiring of IXA, Jiro collapsed.
Sometime after Jiro's release from the hospital, Otoya took the liberty of following him. First interfering with Yuri and Jiro's training when they were swimming laps. Then later on as Jiro had been stalking his next prey. Getting between Jiro and his prey, Otoya proclaimed that not only does he protect Yuri, but all human women. Later bringing up that since Jiro's a monster, he should go find himself a monster woman. Unfortunately Otoya pushed his luck with words too far as Jiro took this rather personally and gave Otoya a swift beating, but not before he noticed that Jiro dropped the IXA-Knuckle.
Later on that day, he caught up with Jiro as finished his meal of the woman he was stalking earlier. Implying that Jiro really is like the Fangire, Jiro corrected him by stating that he was of the Wolfen species. Not caring as to what he was, Otoya still just shrugged him off as a monster. After he asked what Jiro wanted with Yuri, Jiro confessed that Yuri was to be catalyst for the return of the Wolfen, as Jiro was apparently the last one. Stating that since Yuri is a strong woman, she'll bear strong children, and that most importantly, She loves him. Bt with that said, this provoked Otoya to head-but Jiro.

As their fight went on, it seemed pretty obvious that Jiro had it in the bag thanks to his superior strength as a Wolfen. However as soon as Otoya had some distance, he revealed to be in possession of the IXA-Knuckle. Activating it, much to Jiro's enraged dismay, Otoya couldn't help but comment on how comfortable IXA was. Easily repelling Jiro in his Human guise, Otoya continued to fight him even in Jiro's true form. Taking advantage of the Wolfen's blind rage, Otoya quickly beat him down till he decided to use the IXA-Knuckle's Broken Fang. Sending a large fiery projectile that although powerful, was slow enough for Jiro to dodge. After forcing Jiro's retreat and deactivating IXA, Otoya commented on how impressive IXA was. But just after commenting, Otoya keeled over in pain from IXA's harmful effects.
Sometime later, as Yuri had tried to call Otoya's home via pay phone, Otoya was "coincidentally" at the same location Yuri was. As Yuri frisked him she demanded the return of IXA. Claiming he didn't have it on him at the time, he the tried to tell Yuri of Jiro's intentions for her. After his accusations be shrugged off as jealous ramblings, Yuri asked him if he experienced any difficulties after using IXA. Proudly responding that he did not, he claimed to be better than Jiro and that he was immortal. However despite the claims, he eventually used a near by men's room to let loose some pain he had apparently still been suffering from IXA. But after cleaning up some, he met back up with Yuri and continued his facade.
Sometime later in the day after visiting a massage and shoeshine booth, Otoya had retreated into the forest while Yuri had fetched some drinks. As Otoya crouched in pain, Jiro appeared offering Otoya the deal of handing over IXA in exchange for a quick death. But since the offer didn't appeal to him, Otoya activated IXA just as Jiro reverted to his true form. As the fight this time seemed one sided in Otoya's favor, Jiro this time brought his own trump card. After being shot at by the Fish-man from the other night, Jiro and the other monster tag teamed him till IXA's overheating point and self deactivation. But luckily before the killing blow could be dealt with, Yuri appeared after he fell unconscious from Jiro and the fish monster's beating.
After being taken to the taken to the hospital, Yuri had come in for a visit. After being told of the data recorded from using IXA, Otoya shrugged it aside. Stating that his illness was his affection for Yuri and that she's the cure. However Yuri retorted, claiming that his illness was idiocy and that there wasn't a cure.
sometime later Yuri visited again, stopping by since she was investigating another Fangire in the area. After being fed some unappetizing hospital food by Yuri, Otoya asked as to why Yuri had been fighting the Fangires. Believing it to be related to what she said as she was begging for IXA from Jiro, Otoya couldn't help but ask. After Yuir claimed it having to do with the murder of her mother, Jiro appeared at the door reminding her of their work.
After being released from the hospital, Otoya noticed Jiro not far. Asking if he was there to finished their fight, Jiro answered with a request of help. At first turning him down, Jiro then claimed that wasn't for his sake, but for Yuri's as she was to blinded by vengeance for her mother to think straight. After hearing that the one who killed her mother is a Fangire, Rook, and that he was among the the Checkmate Four, the four strongest Fangires, Otoya agreed to join forces.

Eventually catching up with Rook after retrieving IXA form Yuri. They interrupt his latest "Time Play" game. After Jiro made use of IXA, only to be quickly dealt with by Rook Yuri appeared. After her asking of Rooks reasons for killing her mother and not getting a satisfiable answer Rook K.O.ed her and the fight resumed with Otoya donning IXA and Jiro turning to his true form. But unfortunately with the two's combined power, Rook easily defeated them. Fortunately, they were literally saved by the bell when Rook realized that he failed to complete his latest game, and left to punish himself for his failure.
Sometime later as Otoya was practicing upon a rooftop, Yuri came to to see him. Needing a favor, Yuri asked him to be a violin teacher to the child violin prodigy, Kurosawa Mami. However not being fond of kids, Otoya declined. But as Yuri further implored that he do it, Otoya agreed. Conditioning that if he helped Mami out of her slump, then she'll go on a date with him. And much to Otoya's delight, Yuri reluctantly agreed.
Eventually arriving at her home, Otoya immediately recognized a booby trap layed out for him. However this trap was only a distraction for a more elaborate trap. After some unpleasing words thrown at him by Mami and having to hold himself back, he got he to play the violin. Instantly not liking what he heard, he immediately made her stop. After stating that she had no talent, but should work on it anyway since his date depended on it, Mami left. Chasing after her, much after being forced to by Yuri, Otoya demanded Mami show affection for her teacher. As per requested, Otoya was met with a swift drop kick by Mami. After rolling someways down a hill, Otoya quickly recovered and continued his pursuit.
Still chasing her, Otoya resorted to saying whatever he could to make her stop. Saying things like she was a genius or that she was full of talent was obviously not bought by the girl. Being accused of just doing it all to get his date with Yuri, he did not deny it. Complimenting the girls insight, he just simply claimed that he realization of the situation makes it easier for both of them to get what they want. But before anything can happen, they needed to eat.
Stopping by Mald'amour, Mami explained that since her parents are renowned violinists, she's to be one as well. In order to do that she'll need to pass her latest audition. After Mami's insulting Kido's establishment of service, and Otoya's lack of money, Otoya decided to give a lesson. Seeing as Kido needed the toilets cleaned and Otoya could not pay, Otoya decided to mask this debt as a lesson for Mami by saying that Paganini cleaned toilets regularly.

Later on while Mami was completing her "lesson", Yuri showed up surprised to find Otoya there. Just as Kido informed her of Mami's cleaning the toilets, Mami walked out still not understanding the point of the lesson. As Otoya explained that the lesson was for building specific muscles for music performance, all the while waving a plunger around, Jiro walked in. Explaining that a cafe is a place of sanitation and is not somewhere to wave around such a thing, Jiro stuck the plunger in Otoya's face. Soon taking it off, Otoya demanded Jiro return IXA. Believing Jiro stole it from their fight with Rook, he proposed a duel for ownership. To that end, they take the match to a game of Billiards as Otoya explained to a very bored Mami that he wished to show her a proper duel.
With Jiro clearly being far more skilled in the game than Otoya, it seemed like the game was all his until he botched his winning shot. Fortunately, after breaking his cue, his one shot accidentally caused him to win the match. Much to Jiro's dismay, he proclaimed they should go again. But soon enough, Yuri stormed in. Furious that he had been deceived Mami to get out of a debt. Mami hearing this, decided to run away. Thinking Yuri would tell him to chase her, but really just wanted him to teach her properly, proceeded after her.
Shortly catching up with her, Mami clearly tells Otoya to go away. Instead of doing so, he tells her as to why she's in her slump. Going on to say that since she's been trying to just live up to her parent's expectations, she has no real passion to play. Going on to say that when she decides to play when she feels it, then the audition will be no problem.
The next day at the audition, Otoya couldn't help but nod off to sleep from boredom. As Mami's turn came up, he was still nodding off. As she seemed to be doing well, Otoya was still falling asleep, despite the poking, prodding and often kicking from Yuri. As one of the strings broke while Mami's performance, his confidence in her showed through his sleep as she continued to keep playing. Although luckily Otoya came to towards the end of her performance, ready to accept applause (even if they weren't directed at him) from the audience.

Driving out to the countryside after the audition with Yuri and Mami, Otoya reminded Yuri of their deal. After mentioning his keeping up his end of the bargain, Yuri then went on to claim that they were already on their date. After expressing his displeasure with the settings, Mami requested that he play a song on the violin. After playing, Mimi realizes that she could never play like that. As Yuri tries to get Mami to think otherwise, she goes on to declare that she wishes to quit playing. Going on to say that she only learned the instrument because her parents told her to, she confesses that she never really wanted to play. Otoya declaring this to be his final lesson, goes on to say that one listen to the voice from inside and that one should not do something they don't have interest in doing.
Sometime later as Yuri requested the use of IXA from Jiro, Otoya In a rare showing, backed up Jiro in Yuri not having IXA, even thouhg they were feeble attempts to hit on her still. But as soon as Yuri had left, Otoya presented Jiro with an autograph of Yamamoto Susan Kumiko. Taking advantage of Jiro's rabid excitement, he took IXA. Trying to use IXA as a means of winning Yuri over, he later catches up with her. After handing it over to her, claiming that he'd always be there to help, he ends up slugged and can only watch as Yuri runs off.
Later finding her on a rooftop, Otoya asks if Yuri finally did away with Rook once and for all. All the while rubbing his stomach from the punch Yuri gave earlier, she explained that he escaped. She had him right where she wanted him, but he managed to slip by her.
Stopping by a church as a wedding was going on, Otoya spotted what he thought was Yuri due to the similar long black hair. However instead of finding Yuri when he tapped the womans shoulder he found someone else. As she turned around, Otoya was dumbstruck. Left entirely speechless due to the woman's striking beauty, even after she expressed her discomfort for being mistaken for someone else, Otoya could only excuse himself. However as he was making his way, still stricken by the woman's beauty, Rook appeared. Deciding to take action, regardless of the lack of help, Otoya ran for Rook. However this proved highly futile as rook easily threw Otoya against a wall without even looking at him.
Eventually catching up to Yuri at a river and taking a seat next to her. Otoya implies that the real reason Rook got away was because she was afraid. Her silence indicating for him that it's true, he goes on to say that there's nothing wrong with it. That so long as she is aware and accepts her weaknesses, then she'll be fine. After not answering on whether or not her realizing this was the reason he let Yuri have IXA, Yuri further let down even more emotional barriers and weeped on his shoulder.

Sometime later, as he was practicing the violin near a small pond, Jiro paid a visit. After asking that even a dog like Jiro knew good music, Jiro requested that Otoya play one more song in commemoration of his and Yuir's engagement. after Jiro reaffirmed what he claimed, Otoya sought out Yuri as she was speaking with Shima. Clearly disagreeing with Shima's enthusiasm for Yuri's marriage, Otoya claimed that Yuri didn't need a monster like Jiro when she had him.
Somehow later on procuring a seat at the group date Yuri's friend arranged, Otoya attended to further drive Yuri away from Jiro. As one of the other two women seated, Ayumi, pointed out that Jiro and Yuri really shouldn't be there since they were engaged. Otoya quickly silenced Jiro with a blow to the gut just as Jiro was about to confirm it. Later corrected the previous statement as the two were not yet engaged. Quickly after though, Jiro raised Yuri's hand and pointed out the engagement ring. As Otoya tried to express his opinion on the matter further, Jiro quickly kicked his shin under the table with a fork wedged between his toes. Falling out of he seat in pain, the other woman, Kumi, recognized Otoya from long ago. After remembering that they were classmates in kindergarten, refering to her as his "Sand Woman". But as he tried to claim the kiss she supposedly promised him so long ago, Yuri immediately ceased his actions, claiming them to be rude.
As the date progressed, after Ayumi sparked some jealousy in Yuri as she had made some positive comments on Jiro. Yuri told her not to speak of her fiance ins such a way. Yuri referring to Jiro as such greatly exited him, Otoya bumped in and claimed that she didn't mean it. With Yuri agreeing, this angered Jiro as he soon tried to deliver a kick to Otoya. However as Otoya caught Jiro's kick, the two maniacally laughed at one another.
Later on after Riki had left due to the absence of Ayumi, Otoya and Jiro continued in their little bouts against one another. But after losing to an arm wrestling match as he was distracted by Kumi's interests in him, Jiro took notice. Further on as he tried to put a good word in for Otoya, He expressed his discomfort in being praised by Jiro who likewise didn't quite enjoy praising Otoya.
Sometime later, Otoya had been spending some time with Kumi. At Mald'amour, Kumi had tearfully confessed her worry of her older brother having both of his legs broken recently. Explaining further that if he didn't show up for work that he'd be fired. Otoya taking her plight to heart, decided that he'd fill in for him. Which he did as he later on as he took a job in a construction project. After handing over his total pay to Kumi, she once again broke out in tears. When Otoya asked to know what the problem was, Kumi claimed her brother's back was now broken and could not again show up for work. Despite being distressed by the news, Otoya's chivalrous side showed through and proclaimed that he would once again fill in for him.
After presenting to Kumi the second sum of money he was paid, Kumi immediately claimed that her brother had gotten over his broken back and had happily pranced off. Sitting back in his chair Yuri stood over him, claiming him yet again to be an idiot. As she claimed that Kumi didn't have a brother, Otoya was still confused. After Yuri explained that Kumi was merely using him as a means of getting money to buy clothes from the clothing store, Luxur, Otoya didn't feel bothered. In fact he expressed relief in that she didn't have an injured brother. Soon after, Shima walked in. After he explained that people who had recently been buying clothes from Luxur had turned up dead. Hearing this, Otoya raced out of Mald'amour after Yuri.

But luckily coming up with his own plan, Otoya somehow managed to purchase a green dress from Luxur. As he walked around town wearing the dress, Otoya was approached by Luxur's manager, Yamashita. After he complimented about the dress, Yamashita then saw through Otoya's disguise, much to Yamashita's disturbed surprise. Feeling insulted that a man was prancing about in his clothes, he immediately changed into the Chameleon Fangire and attacked Otoya. As Otoya was pinned down agains a guard rail, Yuri and Jiro showed up and chased Yamashita away. After Jiro had thrown about a light insult, Otoya expressed that it didn't feel all to bad to be the damsel in distress.
The next day as Jiro and Yuri were talking, Otoya showed up right after Yuri had decided to turn down Jiro's marriage proposal. As Jiro claimed that Yuri couldn't remove the ring because they were connected by fate, Otoya soon removed Yuri's ring, proclaiming that there is no connection between the two. After saying that, he immediately threw the ring into the near by lake.
Sometime later as Yuri and Jiro were celebrating Kido's birthday, Otoya took the liberty to bring up that his birthday was coming up soon. After being asked what he wanted, he almost replied by saying that he wanted Yuri, but was interrupted before he could finish when Yuri said it to be anything but her. This amusing Jiro, noted on how predictable Otoya's patterns were becoming. After Jiro started throwing out possible gift ideas such as noogies or worms, Yuri recalled his eating omelets quite often.
The next day as he made his way through Mald'amour's entrance, Otoya was surprised to find that Ramon and Riki were now part time employees. After sitting at the bar end, he couldn't help but notice the rather unpleasant aroma in the air. looking over, he noticed Yuri cooking. Asking her as to what it was, she refused to show him. As he soon volunteered to help her, despite her not wanting it, the two unfortunately made a mess in the end.
Later in the day, after Otoya once again stumbled on Ramon and Riki, this time in the park. He soon ran into the woman from church where he last fought Rook. This time trying to charm her, he soon found himself chasing her, believing that she was shy. However after quickly loosing sight of her, Yuri appeared asking him how many women of fate he had. After claiming her to be the only real destined woman for him, Jiro showed up saying to not pay attention to Otoya's shallow characteristics.
The next day, returning to Mald'amour, Otoya was invited to try one of Yuri's omelet dishes. Inquiring that she made it for him before he ate it, she flat out denied. After the first bite, he quickly claimed it to be sub par. But after he tried to hide it by then claiming it to be delicious in order to save Yuri from disappointment, she told him to tell the truth, which he then did by repeating what he said earlier.

Later that day as Otoya was practicing the Violin on a bridge over a river, Jiro came walking up, once again applauding Otoya's performance. Being asked if Yuri's omelet was good, Otoya answered with asking if that Jiro was jealous of it. Not getting the answer he quite expected, as Jiro expressed that he was happy that Otoya had an enjoyable meal. After being told that he was in the way, Jiro then reverted to his true form. After Jiro mauled Otoya, despite whatever attempts he made to fight back, Jiro took a moment to savor the situation and then threw Otoya into the river, believing him to be dead.
A day or so later, Otoya found himself waking up in a stranger's home. Moving about, even though advised to go back to sleep. Otoya got up and left. Immediately after leaving, he noticed the woman whom he had ran into before was being attacked by the Grizzly Fangire. Taking action, he picked up a nearby bike and hurled it at the Fangire, scaring it away. After laughing in pride of his latest triumph, he noticed the woman he saved also laughing. After asking why she was, she pointed out how "the prince came to save the damsel in distress". But after asking if she was happy with that, she slapped him. Demanding to know why, she simply answered that she was thanking him and walked away. But after giving chase, he literally ran into Riki who had apparently been looking for Otoya him.
Apparently hearing from him that Jiro had kidnapped Yuri, Otoya immediately tracked the two down. Finding them as Jiro was trying to embrace Yuri, Otoya pulled him off. As he tried to free Yuri of her restraints, Jiro reverted to his true form and attacked. Yet again overpowered by Jiro's superior abilities, he was beaten down till Yuri got free and came to his aid, despite his telling her not to get in the way. But after her confessing of her feelings for Otoya to Jiro, he held her up and claimed that if he couldn't have Yuri, then no one could. Luckily after passing out, he soon woke up to find Yuri's arms around him and couldn't resist but ask if he was in heaven.
Sometime later, Otoya was treated to a meal by Yuri in his own home. Unfortunately though, it was an omelets. Even though Yuri made it because he claimed he liked them, she grew tired of his attitude. But after she took his plate, he simply scraped the omelet onto her plate and took it. Placing it in front of him, he went on to claim that anything that she will make, he'd be happy to eat. After taking a bite and commenting on that it was still a bit plain, Yuri presented Otoya with a gift. Surprised by this rare occasion, Otoya opened it, revealing a watch with the words "From YURI" inscribed on it. After Yuri explained that it was for all the hardships he went through to help her, and to apologize to him. As he he was putting it on his wrist, he commented on that he he was very prone to losing things and that he also gave things away often. But when he had it on, he professed that he would always keep it by him. After he had the watch fastened to him, he asked Yuri if she wanted anything. After she asked that she wanted to see the sea, Otoya claimed that there was a sea right with them, his sea of love.
The next day, Shima called Yuri and Otoya into Mald'amour for Yuri to report on the recent events that had occurred previously. After Shima revealed the IXA Knuckle which had arrived to him from Jiro the previous day, he expressed his surprise at Jiro's not being human. Prompting Otoya to give out the appropriate "I told you so" line, Shima apologized for not believing him. But now with Jiro gone, Shima wanted Otoya to take Jiro's place in the Wonderful Blue Sky Organization, as well as the new user of IXA.
Later on at a nearby playground, as Yuri and Otoya hanged around a swing set, Yuri brought up her wanting revenge for her mother. Otoya thinking instead of heading to the beach like they had discussed earlier, they should go and kill Rook. But Yuri insisted they go to Saehama beach, a place she had lost a ring her mother gave her when she was little. With that in mind, Otoya proposed that he'd go with her to find it. However as Yuri claimed that it was impossible, Otoya told her to believe in him. After working up enough momentum on the swing and saying that he can bring forth miracles, he launched himself a great distance and over some nearby guard rails, landing successfully on his feet.

The next day, while Otoya was making his way through an underground walkway, he once again ran into the the woman from the church. Trying to remember how many times they had met already, the woman counted four. After proclaiming that the first time was a coincidence, the second a miracle, third was inevitable and the fourth was destiny, he claimed that he was sorry to say that he had already found his woman of destiny. Shortly after, Rook unexpectedly appeared down the corridor. Noticing that Rook was running in their direction, Otoya took the woman's hand and ran.
Running out into the open, but finding a place to hid, Otoya claimed that the woman was being targeted by Rook. After she asked why, Otoya remarked that attractive woman commonly are wanted, but reassured her that he'd protect her. Curious, the woman asked why he would do that even if he might get hurt. But after he answered that creatures such as men were just like that, Rook had apparently found them and continued his chase.
Still running, Rook had slowed Otoya and the woman down a bit, but luckily with the use of the IXA Knuckle, Otoya managed to fide back with some Excess energy in the IXA Knuckle. Taking advantage of the time bought, Otoya and the woman got to their feet and ran into a nearby parking lot building. After handing his violin case to the woman, Otoya went off to see if Rook had followed them. But after finding no sign of him, we went back to the woman. After catching Rook there with her, she ran to his side. Recalling that he didn't catch her name, she told him that it was Maya. After introducing himself, he activated IXA and engaged Rook. Unfortunately like his previous fight with Rook while using IXA, he was yet again dominated by Rooks superior abilities. After further acting as a punching bag for Rook, IXA reached it's overheating point. When Rook threw him against a wall, IXA began to short circuit. After stumbling away from the fight into a nearby warehouse, Otoya collapsed and passed out as IXA deactivated.
After waking up with a woman near him, he couldn't help but wonder where he was. After she asked if he was alright, he claimed that he didn't know. But when he asked who she was, he then asked who he was instead. When she asked if he really didn't remember anything, he recalled that he at least knew that he loved a woman named Yuri. After a seconds pause, the woman then claimed that she herself was Yuri. After trying to remember about how he knew her, a large man who seemed dangerous walked in and was told to run by "Yuri".
A little later after finding a place safe to hide, "Yuri" brought him a violin case. Asking what it was, she claimed that it was what he always carried around with him. Taking the instrument out, he started to play it. While he played, he started to remember his promise. The promise he made to Yuri to find the her ring at Saehama Beach.

Later on when they arrived at the beach, he started preparing to go into the water. When "Yuri" asked what he was doing. He told her that he was about to fulfill the promise he made to her. After diving into the ocean, he swam to the bottom. Remaining under water for a while, digging through the sand. he came up once for air before heading back down and eventually passing out as he dug a gain. After gaining consciousness, Otoya found Yuri over him as she had apparently saved him from drowning. When she asked if he recognized her, Otoya told her that there was no way he could forget his woman of destiny. After Yuri was relieved to hear that he was okay, Otoya showed her something. The very ring that he promised to retrieve for her.
Sometime later as Otoya and Yuri were making their way home from buying toothbrushes and pajamas and other household necessities, they both noticed a strange fellow standing on a guard rail. Thinking that he was attempting to kill himself, Otoya tried to persuade him down. Luckily as the stranger claimed that Otoya was mistaken, they both unfortunately fell off into the river.
Later on after carrying the stranger to Otoya's home and letting him rest in his bed, the stranger finally awoke. When he asked if the year was indeed 1986, which really wasn't the expression of thanks Otoya was looking for. As Yuri confirmed it for him, even marking that the day was now to be a day of future anniversaries, Otoya went on to preach that in the future it would be a holiday, since the he and Yuri had now started to live together. However the stranger didn't seem to enthusiastic of their happiness and remarked on how improper it was for a man and a woman to live under one roof and not be married.
As the day went on, Otoya had decided to practice his playing in a public garden. After he finished playing, he was approached by a man with a job proposal. After the man, Tanahashi, explained that for paintings of upper class people in the past, artists would often have musicians perform so as to keep the person they were painting from being bored, he wanted Otoya to play so his model didn't suffer from bordom. After turning the Tanahashi's offer down, professing that he didn't like the idea of his skills being used for background music, Maya then appeared from behind also asking him to perform since she apparently also enjoyed his playing.
Heading over to Tanahashi's studio and after playing a song, Otoya was commented on by Maya once again for his skills, even though Tanahashi insisted that she didn't move. But after noticing a ruckus outside, Otoya went out and found the stranger from before being roughed up by the Cicada Fangire. After shooting a blast of exess energy from the IXA Knuckle at the Fangire, Otoya remarked on how he had to save the stranger yet again before activating IXA.
After fending off the Fangire, the stranger then attempted to assault Otoya after demanding he hand over IXA. However as Otoya caught the stranger's punch, he inqured as to how he knew of IXA and who he was. And as per asked, the stranger claimed that he was from 22 year into the future, and is a future agent of the Wonderful Blue Sky Org. Taking this to Shima, despite the fact that Otoya believed the stranger belonged in a mental institute, the stranger explained that he was the IXA System's user in 2008. And that he came back to change events that would cause trouble for the Organization in the future.

Later on returning to Tanahashi's studio, Otoya played on despite the fact that Maya was growing a little more impatient, much to Tanahashi's dismay. As Maya expressed some doubt in Tanahashi's abilities, saying that she'll determine if he was someone blessed by a muse, Otoya backed her up. Claiming that it took her only an instant to tell that he was a genius. As Tanahashi was called away, Otoya remarked oh how he was glad that he finally met a woman who so fond of the fine arts. Which then prompted Maya to ask if that up until then, no one had been able to understand him. Not answering as it put in into a seconds worth of contemplation, Maya then asked him to continue playing, which he obliged. However as he was in the middle of his performance, the stranger burst in through the door, once again demanding IXA, but was topped in his tracks as Maya stood and slapped the stranger across the face.
Noticing how he acted afterwards, Otoya decided to trail the stranger for a little while. After catching up to him as he was following Maya, Otoya openly pondered in front of the stranger if he was starting to have a crush on her. As the stranger immediately denied it, Otoya was only more convinced. As he tried yet again to attack Otoya, he this time stepped back and opened up his violin case to reveal a spring loaded boxing glove, which successfully hit the stranger down just before he could've hit Otoya. After Otoya admitted that if they threw down right then and there that he'd likely lose, he told the stranger that he could never truly be beaten by him because the stranger was too uptight.
Later on as he was having a quick meal at Mald'amour, Kido alerted Otoya that Yuri was captured by the stranger. Finally giving up the IXA Knuckle and tossing it to him, Yuri caught it by surprise to the stranger and tossed it back. When they both slugged the stranger in the gut together, Maya appeared telling Otoya to stop. After she told him that his hands were for the fine arts and not for dirtying in combat, Yuri yanked him away by the ear telling him not to see her again as she dragged him off.
The next day as the Cicada Fangire appeared again, this time after Tanahashi, Otoya immediately raced to the scene, activating IXA. after the two fought, the Fangire took Tanahashi hostage. As he charged up the Broken Fang attack, Otoya turned back, proclaiming he did enough. Hoping that his ruse would leave an opening to attack the Fangire, he immediately jumped back ready to fire. As he was about to fire the Broken Fang, the stranger jumped in and pushed him out of the way. As he took the IXA knuckle in hand, he shot an exhaust shot at the Fangire instead, separating him from Tanahashi. After he asked the stranger what he was up to, all he did was simply disappear into thin air, much to Otoya's confusion.
Sometime later as Otoya and Yuri (mostly Yuri) were cleaning his house, Yuri complained about his lack of helping. Claiming that since his heart was clean, and making another mess all on his own, he didn't need to clean anything else. After shooting back at what each others hearts were filled of, be it cobwebs or mold, Yuri then wondered if the peace they were enjoying would last. As Otoya was thinking that everything was fine at peace, Yuri decided to factor in her being a fighter, which he still saw nothing wrong with. Even bringing up Rook, whom he pretended to have entirely forgot about.

As the day progressed, Otoya was enjoying some flavored ice from Ramon and Riki's stand, Jiro appeared requesting their help, in defeating Rook. Amused that Jiro was asking for his help, Otoya was even more amused that he was also asking for Ramon and Riki. However things weren't as they seemed as the two of them briefly turned into monsters, much to a startled Otoya's surprise. After stating that the problems of monsters were the business of monsters, Otoya ran for it. But as Jiro also stated that killing Rook was for Yuri, he stopped. Agreeing to help, Otoya did so under one condition: to leave Yuri in the dark about the whole ordeal.
As the two walked through the park, Otoya inquired as to what Jiro's plan was against Rook. After simply stating that it was combining four lesser powers to equal and overcome one great power, Otoya congratulated Jiro for coming up with a short and sweet plan, yet insulted him by claiming he had a lesser brain. As the two bickered with each other over who had more smarts, Rook appeared. After Otoya blamed his finding them because of Jiro, they then both ran as Jiro brilliantly suggested. Unfortunately their retreat was halted as Rook caught up rather quickly. After Jiro pushed Otoya out of the way and took a short beating from Rook, Otoya activated IXA and attacked. But as all past fights with Rook went, this one too didn't last long.
Later on as Otoya was checking on Yuri in the hospital, as she apparently arrived on the scene after Otoya passed out, Yuri told him to not get in her way of killing Rook. After thinking that she was still afraid of Rook, and Yuri stating that that was exactly why she needed to face him. Jiro entered the room, informing Otoya that Rook was causing a ruckus around a nearby park area. As they headed out, they quickly changed their attire and disguised themselves as a doctor and an old woman, making Yuri believe that she was casing Rook instead of Riki in a mock-up Rook outfit.
After bickering with Jiro over who was the better man, the hunt for Rook began. As the sun was wearing Otoya down, he unexpectedly had a short visit from Maya, wanting to listen to his violin. After stating that he was busy and promising her a private concert when he had the time, he saw Rook. Finally catching up Otoya whipped out a seashell blowhorn and summoned the cavalry. As everyone arrived, they all wore sunglasses to provoke Rook since his game was still on. After Riki apologized for letting Yuri found out, everyone performed their respective transformations and engaged Rook. Unfortunately, despite their combined strength, Rook was still able to outclass Otoya and the trio of monsters, forcing them all to fall before him at the same time, just as his game ended.

Regrouping back at home, Otoya chided Jiro and the monsters for losing to Rook. As they were at a loss of what to do, Yuri proclaimed that she had an Idea. As Otoya and Jiro pretended to chase Yuri through a warehouse with IXA, they ran into Rook, asking them if they knew of anything amusing to do. Yuri claiming that there was, she showed him the IXA Knuckle, claiming that it was more important to her than her own life, and that Otoya and Jiro wanted to take it. After Rook inquired if it was really that great and Yuri complied, he took it for himself, activating IXA.
After everyone acted as though they were losing to Rook as IXA weighted his strength down since he was technically stronger than the System, IXA's overheating point was finally reached and deactivated. Fooling Rook into being weakened by the system's harmful effects, Otoya got hold of the knuckle and activated IXA after pointing out that it could only be used for a limited time. After landing a few good hits, Otoya held Rook down to let Yuri have a few decent hits on him as well. As the tide of battle was entirely against Rook, Otoya deactivated IXA and tossed it over to Yuri, abling her to finally finish him off.
Sometime later during a relatively quiet day, Otoya noticed Yuri ironing his clothes. After telling her to stop since it really wasn't necessary, he added that housework didn't really suite her. But after having a second look, he took it back. After Yuri expressed embarrassment for the way Otoya was looking at her, Otoya commented on that she'd changes since they first met. Yuri inquiring as to how, Otoya described her as at first being angry and short tempered. But as he was about to further elaborate on how she was now, Yuri interjected saying she was happy and calm. As she went on stating her happiness in wreaking her vengeance upon Rook, that she can finally slow down. When Otoya inquired if she was quitting the Blue Sky Org, Yuri proclaimed that it was possible. But when she brought up ideas of marriage, Otoya quickly told her that she should live life a bit more before deciding on big things like that. Unfortunately, all the while they were talking, Yuri left the iron on one of Otoya's shirts, leaving a singe mark on it and burning one of Otoya's fingers as he took it off.
Later on in the day as Otoya napped in the middle of an amusement park, he was awakened by the sound of a violin. Upon further inspection, It was Maya standing above him playing his violin. After she asked if he disproved with her ability to play, he told her to continue. Listening further, it became apparent that Maya had copied his own tune. As she told him she learned the violin from Studying Vivaldi, Otoya commented her knowledge and ability to play. After she asked him why she was able to copy his tune, claiming that he should be able to figure it out since he was the kind of genius violinist to come every 100 years, however Otoya bragged every 1000, she noticed his finger injury. After she blew on it, telling him to take better care of his hands and leaving, Otoya noticed the burn instantly healed.

While he was walking through a building parking lot, Otoya once again ran into Maya, asking if he figured out why she was able to copy his tune. Casually claiming that he didn't like homework, he asked her to tell him why. However before she could, they both noticed Riki standing behind them. After Riki warned Otoya to stay away from her, he reverted into his true form. As he seemed to be attacking Maya, Otoya shockingly watched as Maya revealed herself to be the Pearlshell Fangire. After she quickly dealt with Riki, forcing him to retreat, she assumed her guise, asking Otoya if there was a problem.
As they made their way through the neighborhood, Otoya expressed his surprise on Maya being a Fangire. Not really sure as to how to take in how the one person in the world who understands him is a Fangire, or why seemingly everyone he knows is a monster for that matter. As Maya claimed that to her, Humans were the monsters, she expressed curiosity on how if this meant that he would kill her before getting the answer to why she was able to copy his tune. Proclaiming that he wouldn't fight her, he then asked for the answer. When she pointed out his violin, she claimed it didn't suit him, that it couldn't help him realize his full potential. Remembering back to the creator of the Black Star, Otoya told her that he said that he would one day obtain a special violin for himself that better suited him. But he saw no way to get one as he lacked the kind of funds necessary for a superb quality violin. However Maya claimed that they'd make one, Otoya expressed skepticism. However as she left she reassured him as she claimed that even though she looked so young, she studied the violin directly under Stradivari 300 years ago.
The next day as they started the production of his new violin, Otoya expressed that he'd like to have it completed quickly, however Maya thought otherwise. As she claimed that what they were making was no ordinary violin, that it was something they needed to pour their souls into and couldn't be rushed.
Sometime later, after days of making his new violin with Maya, she purposed they take a break, despite being so close to completion. After Maya had left for the day and while Otoya was tending to some finishing touches, Jiro walked through the door. After he commented on how Otoya looked like the living dead. He went on to say how he had heard that Humans were prone to being possessed by spirits, and asked if Otoya was aware that he had been taken by a Fangire. Not expecting Jiro to understand, Otoya claimed that he needed Maya, even if she was a Fangire. When Jiro brought up Yuri, who loved him deeply, Otoya went on to claim that his wanting Yuri and Maya were two diferent things. That he was getting something from Maya that Yuri couldn't offer or understand of him.
Later on as Otoya had technically finished construction of the violin, tuning the wires just right, he prepared to play it just after he took a moment to appreciate it's look. However just as he was about to, Maya rushed through the door, stopping him. As she told him that it wasn't complete just yet, she claimed that one more piece was needed. As he was unaware of what it was, Maya claimed that a wish was needed. Hearing this, Otoya then began to play the newly constructed violin. Believing that music exists in everyone, Otoya wished to protect this music. After further playing and Maya claiming it to be complete, Otoya then immediately decided on a name, The Bloody Rose.

Sometime later, to celebrate the completion of the Bloody Rose, Otoya treated Maya to a fancy restaurant. As he expressed his gratitude in her helping him create his new violin, he proclaimed that he had already found his woman of destiny, and that it would be the last time he and Maya would meet. Amused yet curious, Maya asked Otoya if he had it in him to stay true to those words, especially since he promised her a private concert. Keeping true to his promise, Otoya then decided to play for her an entirely new song he had created for her.
After Yuri had taken the IXA System from Otoya and got injured from it's use as a result, Otoya visited Yuri as she finally awoke. As Yuri had a troubled look on her face, Otoya asked what the matter was. When Yuri asked how he felt about her, he claimed that the two of them were one, but Yuri didn't believe that. As she pointed out that she didn't have the ability to understand his talents, Otoya didn't see it at important. But Yuri claimed that he wanted to be with someone else because they understand it. When Yuri attempted to get out of bed, Otoya asked what she was trying to do. When she claimed that she wanted to talk to Maya, he immediately tried to stop her. After she pushed Otoya away, Yuri grabbed a nearby apple and threw it at him. Catching it, Yuri picked up another and threw it only for Otoya to catch it again. After throwing a pillow, Yuri threw a vase full of flowers at him. Unfortunately Otoya didn't see the vase in time as it was behind the flowers in mid air, causing it to hit him unconscious.
Sometime later after trying to prevent Yuri from getting to Maya and then afterwards confessing to her that he knew she was a Fangire all along, Otoya followed Yuri to the local harbor where she was about to fight Maya. As he proposed the idea them all going out on a picnic, Yuri wouldn't have any of it and left once she noticed Maya disappeared. After finding Maya, Otoya asked her to pay no attention to Yuri and to avoid any kind of fighting with her. As she claimed that she wouldn't take Yuri's life, for she had already taken something more valuable, Otoya asked what that would be. However just like before, Maya left it up to him to figure it out.
Sometime later, after having a few instances of some trippy deja-vu, Otoya was called over to Ramon and Riki's new massage booth. As they performed their trade, Otoya asked them what it was they wanted to talk about. As Ramon pointed out that since Otoya had helped him and Riki out in the past, they decided to repay him with free service as an expression of gratitude.
Later on, as Otoy was bathing, Jiro walked in. After demanding to know why the wolf-monster was there, Jiro claimed that in exchange for the help Otoya had given him before, he's repaying the favor by scrubbing his back. After turning to face him, saying that had he invited him in he'd be allowed, Jiro immediately turned him back and commenced scrubbing. Actually finding it enjoyable, Otoya commented on how good it was to bathe with another, and how it was a good means of bonding with friends. However as he then turned to do the same to Jiro, he found him turned away in his true form, crying. Asking what the matter was, Jiro merely claimed that he got soap in his eye, and motioned for Otoya to scrub his back.
As the day progressed, Otoya found Yuri in combat with Maya. As he came upon the scene after Yuri had retreated, he picked up the IXA Knuckle after he had inquired as to what had happened. However the man standing next to Maya asked why he had involved himself with Maya, the Queen of the Fangires. After the man had announced himself to be King, Otoya claimed that he was in love with Maya. Amused by Otoya's words, King claimed it was impossible for Humans and Fangires to be with one another. However Otoya didn't see it that way and claimed that it didn't matter if they were Fangire or Human. Claiming that what was important was what was inside, he claimed that Maya heard his inner music, that she truly understands him. and that he can hear Maya's inner music as well.

As they took their confrontation to an abandoned warehouse, King ordered Maya to kill Otoya. However ahs she made no motion to do so, thinking she sided with the Humans, King then claimed that Otoya had the divine honor of being sent to hell by none other than himself. With that, Otoya immediately drew the IXA Knuckle and fired an excess energy blast at King. However he deflected it with a dark energy wave of his own, sending Otoya flying back. As Maya rushed to his side, screaming his name, Jiro had apparently tried to ambush King on his own. However as King had donned some strange armor and transformed Jiro into something, Otoya stormed up to King, despite Maya trying to hold him back. Enraged over what he did to Jiro, Otoya activated IXA and charged King. Just before Otoya landed a large drop-kick on King, he easily blocked it and took hold of Otoya by the neck. Shocked with some energy bolts, Otoya was thrown at a wall, causing IXA's deactivation and his losing consciousness before crawling to the Bloody Rose.
Sometime later as he woke, Otoya found himself chained to a wall in a dark and dingy place. Seeing King, Otoya demanded to know where he was and what King intended to do. As he stated that Otoya wasn't worthy of being a decoration in his home, King claimed that Otoya was to become food for Castle Doran. Turning a small hourglass, King proclaimed that once all the sand reached the bottom, all of Otoya's life energy would be consumed by Doran. Just before the walls seemingly did in fact begin suck his life energy.
Later on, after further having his life energy drained, King pointed out that Otoya's time to die was near. With that in mind, Otoya asked a favor of King: to play the violin one last time. However, after a short performance, the hour glass ran out of sand. Tired of Otoya's performance, King decided to finish Otoya off personally. But just before King as about to deliver the death blow, he was interrupted by Maya and Yuri. As King once again donned his strange armor, claiming Maya had lost her pride as a Fangire, and Maya reverted to her true form, the two did battle. With this, Yuri and Otoya used this distraction to escape. However jsut as they got outside of Doran, they were cut off by the Silkmoth Fangire. As Yuri pulled out the IXA Knuckle to fight the Fangire, Otoya insisted on doing so instead. After activating IXA, Otoya charged the Fangire, evading it's trident and pinning it in place so it couldn't disperse. Using the Broken Fang attack, Otoya easily destroyed the Fangire.
Sometime later at the hospital, as Otoya was snacking on a banana, Yuri came to visit. Admitting that he was surprised that of all people that she came to rescue him, and lamented on how he had been treating her recently. After surmising that "The power of love" was what prevailed in the end, Otoya noticed Yuri's cheerfulness, openly wondering if something good had happened recently. After Yuri had told him that she couldn't have rescued him alone, Otoya got out of be and started to get dressed. Saying that he was checking himself out so that he could save Jiro, Otoya was suddenly stopped as a doctor walked into the room, telling him that he wasn't well enough to leave. As he forced Otoya back into bed, insisting that he needed to stay, Otoya inquired as to who the doctor was as he noticed he wasn't the regular done. After saying that he was new and told Otoya that he needed to remain in the hospital for at least a year, Otoya made his way out anyway. As they walked on, Otoya and Yuri came across his proper doctor. As he showed Otoya his tests results, they were very much contrary to what the previous doctor had said, and was indeed allowed to check out.
Later that evening, as he made his way through an underground walkway Otoya passed a fortune teller. As he told Otoya that danger awaited for him, Otoya reveled in the knowledge of such, saying that a little danger was necessary in order to mix thing up a bit in life and keep it fun. As the fellow then told Otoya that he couldn't meet a woman found himself displeased with what the old man was saying, claiming that his life can't be changed even with fortune telling, it was then Otoya started realize. Pulling of what was a wig and fake goatee, he recognized him as the phony doctor from the hospital. With that, the stranger ran.

The next day, after Yuri had called for him, Otoya arrived at an outdoor cafe where Yuri waited. As he asked her what it was she wanted to talk about, Yuri claimed she had a gift for him. When he proclaimed that he'd take anything she'd give him, she claimed that the gift was her goodbye. As he tried to speak, she told him that he didn't need to say anything. She claimed that she was happy to have met him, and still was. For his chance at happiness, she said that this was to be done. But as she got up, she stepped on his foot. Smiling, she admitted to intentionally doing so, and left.
Later on, when Otoya met with Maya, he asked her if she was willing to live together with him. After she accepted, Otoya then asked her if she remembered his promise he made to her about the private concert. As May pointed out that he did that for her already, Otoya insisted that he would then on hold one for her every night. After saying that, the stranger from before came along, and dragged Yuri along with him. As he claimed that they couldn't be with one another, he confessed that he was their son, and that he wasn't supposed to be born. Thinking this to be complete rubbish, the stranger once again begged them to not meet with one another any more. As Otoya speculated that it was all just a trick set up by the Fangires, the stranger insisted that if he wasn't born then someone wouldn't die. Still thinking it was a lie, Otoya asked him why he was already grown up if he was his son. Claiming that he was from twenty-two years from then, he then tried to back his claim by showing him a button Maya supposedly gave him when he was little. Not believing it, Otoya punched the guy unconscious. As he and Maya walked on, Otoya commented on how there were such strange people in the world. However, Maya seemed not as skeptical as she actually had a similar button to what the stranger showed.
As the day progressed, when Otoya came home, Otoya found the stranger in unexpectedly there. As he asked how he got in, the stranger claimed that he would be living there in the future, holding the same exact key that Otoya was holding, only a bit more eroded. Annoyed, Otoya tried to prove that the stranger was not son by showing him a trick that only those of the Kurenai lineage could do: standing and walking on the top side of their toes. As he went on displaying this ability, Otoya turned to his unexpected surprise to see that the stranger was also capable to do as he did. As they walked on their toes for a bit, the stranger then noticed Otoya's violin case. Opening it and seeing the Bloody Rose, he marveled that it's shine was exactly the same as how he knew it. As Otoya asked how he knew what it was called, the stranger proclaimed that it was the violin he made and entrusted a wish to. After that, Otoya finally asked for the strangers name, to of which he told him: Kurenai Wataru.
Otoya who had started to believe him, soon found himself along with Wataru bathing with one another. As Otoya thought it must've been a while for Wataru to bathe with his father,Wataru stated that it was, in fact, the first time. As he insisted that he didn't come to the past to play around, he then Asked a favor from Otoya. He asked that he not see Maya again. Butt Otoya wasn't interested in listening to any of that.
As the day went on, Otoya came across Wataru on his way to a date with Maya. As Wataru implored that Otoya not follow through with his plans, Otoya wouldn't have any of it. Claiming that even though Wataru may be his son, intentionally restraining his freedom would not be tolerated. Desperate, Wataru took the Bloody Rose from Otoya and ran. But as Otoya caught up and tried to wrestle the violin from Wataru they were eventually shot at by the Poler Bear Fangire. As Otoya got up to see, he saw Wataru in a suit of armor very similar to King's. But as Wataru fought and seemed to be loosing against the Fangire, Otoya activated the IXA Sytem, claiming the only he could discipline his son. After he rushed to Wataru's side, they pushed the Fangire back together. As both then readied their respective finishers, they destroyed the Fangire together. Despite their joining forces, Wataru proclaimed that he still wouldn't let Otoya see Maya. As Otoya took that as a challenge, the two did battle. However, despite Wataru's decent skill and ability, he eventually lost the scuffle. But as Otoya was about to make his way off, King appeared before them. As he seemed to be aware that Wataru was from the future, and knew that he intended to change it, King recommended a solution to Wataru's predicament: To kill Otoya.
With Otoya wasn't quite fond of King's words, it was then that he transformed into his strange armor again. After King pulled Otoya to him and charged him with green bolts of energy again, Wataru rushed to the aid of his father and kicked King away. After the kick landed it's target and sent King back, he sortly then rose to his feet. After Wataru picked otoya up, King immediately, in a fit of rage over Wataru's existence, stripped himself of his armor and revealed himself to be the Bat Fangire. As he blasted the both of them with a large beam of dark energy, Wataru used the following explosion to escape with Otoya.
As they made their way, Otoya stated that this would be where they'd part for the time being as he made it apparent that he still intended to see Maya. As he claimed that men who were late for dates were worthless, Wataru still tried to stop him. But as Otoya pretended to reason with him, he instead spanked Wataru, went into a small fit of laughter and went on his way to his date. However, Maya was not where they had agreed to meet. After looking around some, Otoya was then met with King's bat, who claimed that Maya wasn't there. As he went on to say that he had a message from Maya, he claimed that the message was that she couldn't see him any more. As the bet flew away, Otoya followed.

When Otoya tailed the bat to a local sports stadium, he found Maya there and asked her why they couldn't. Soon enough though, Wataru eventually arrived there as well, saying the same things he had before, much to Otoya's annoyance. After she claimed that if she contiued to see Otoya, King, would kill her first born son, Taiga. As Otoya claimed that he would rescue Taiga, believing that if Taiga was her son, than he was his as well, Maya claimed it to be impossible. As she stated that King was unbeatable, King's bat, proposed the idea of Otoya using him. However Maya was against it, stating that if a Human were to become Kiva (King's strange armor), they'd die. But as Otoya proclaimed that he couldn't think of any other ideas, Maya then asked Wataru to help. As she said that he had the powers of Kiva as well, he might stand a chance at beating King. However Otoya was opposed to it, and claimed that he'd rescue Taiga along with Jiro and the others himself.
As the day went on, when Otoya made his way through town, he came across King and Wataru in battle. After he called out to Wataru, King threw him aside and fired a small blast of dark energy at Otoya. However instead of being hit, Wataru took the blast for Otoya and fell to the floor. As it seemed there was no other option, Otoya called for King's bat for aid. After he flew right off of King and into Otoya's hand, much to King's enraged surprise, Otoya then painfully transformed into Kiva. After they attacked one another, resulting in a small explosion due to the colliding of their attacks, King vanished leaving Otoya and Wataru behind. With Wataru trying to stand on his feet, Otoya turned back into his true form and stumbled to help him up. Recalling what Maya said, Wataru inquired if his father was alright. As Otoya claimed he was no ordinary human, he then tried to walk away. When Wataru asked where he was going, Otoya simply apologized to Wataru and punched him in the gut.
As he made his way, Otoya soon ran into Maya again. After she gave him a hug, she asked him if he ignored her warning and actually did transform into Kiva. As he felt that she was overreacting, he claimed that he was as fine as he could. However Maya claimed that he didn't know what he was doing, and if he transformed again, he'd die for sure. As he asked her if she was ready to be with him, Otoya claimed that he was was also ready to sacrifice himself for those he cares for. After asking her to inherit his will, his meaning to live, she stood aside, and allowed him to pass.
Later on, after making his way back into Doran and wandering around for a bit, Otoya finally found a room that contained the captured forms of Jiro, Ramon and Riki. Unfortunately, after he had just picked them all up, King walked into the room, asking if he came all that way just to die. As he tried to attack King, he easily threw Otoya to the ground. Luckily, Otoya fired an exhaust energy blast out of the IXA Knuckle and sent King flying back, buying Otoya time to get away. After he found a place to hide, Otoya noticed Wataru wandering around and pulled Wataru towards him, keeping out of sight from King. As the coast was clear, Otoya asked Wataru if he still believed that he should not exist. As Otoya claimed that the only way for the girl, Mio, to live was for Wataru to live strong, he told him to that once he moved on he'd find her again in some way. However, soon enough the two Kurenais were then found by King. As Otoya claimed that he'd take care of King, he told Wataru to find Taiga, despite Wataru's objections. With the two alone, Otoya called for King's bat and transformed into Kiva, just as King reverted to his true form as well.

As the fight took them outside of Doran, Otoya seemingly found himself thrown about by King due to his greater fighting skill and energy blasts. But eventually the fight seemed to leveled out as Otoya figured out more of Kiva's powers. Eventually making sure King stayed in place with the insignia trap, Otoya then performed the Wake Up 1 move on King. Unfortunately, however, King quickly rose after the attack and summoned a giant creature, taking control of Doran and shooting at Otoya. Luckily Wataru took care of the creature, but this made little difference as King still proved to be incredibly powerful. After King had beaten Otoya down, Wataru came to his side. After Wataru attacked King, he too was soon beaten down. As Otoya got back up to his feet, King commended him for his will to live. And with that, Otoya revealed and activated IXA.
Even though he had one last thing to fight with, it clearly proved ineffective as King soon blasted IXA clean off of Otoya. As Wataru came and tried to fight King again, King once again showed his superiority in battle. With this, Otoya called for King's bat one last time, despite Wataru's protests. After he transformed into Kiva, the two of them each tried to attack King. Despite their physical might, each trying to go for the Fangire seemed to be futile. After the both of them had been pushed back, they then started to attack King simultaneously. After pushing King back, Otoya managed to keep King still with the insignia trap. With this, father and son then readied their respective finishers. Landing their kicks on King in unison, it seemed that the battle had ended.
After it seemed King was having a hard time rising to his feet, he let out a blast of energy from his tatto at Maya, who had been watching, claiming she was his. However, unexpectedly, Taiga had somehow reflected the blast back at King. After he stepped back some due to the force of the blast, King grinned. Just as he reveled in the fact that his son had now ascended to King, he claimed that Taiga would one day kill all of them. And with those words, King shattered into hundreds of pieces.
With Otoya collapsing, Wataru brought him over to somewhere to sit. After he set Otoya, they started to notice Wataru's hand dispersing. As Otoya deduced that it was time for Wataru to be leaving, he and Maya told him not to worry. After Otoya claimed that he was going to take his life easy form then on, Wataru didn't quite understand how. Claiming that he still didn't know what to do with himself, Otoya asked him if he heard the wish that he put into the Bloody Rose. As Wataru claimed that he did, and even put the same wish into it himself, he asked how he was supposed to hear the music of people. After Otoya told him Wataru to think for himself and not depend on him, Wataru finally disappeared. With him gone, Maya chided Otoya for acting the way he did, despite the pain he was in. However Otoya defended himself, claiming he couldn't allow himself to not look tough for his own son.
Sometime later, as it was pouring rain, Otoya decided to go talk to Yuri for one last time. As she was walking Kido's dog, he approached her, asking if she had finally gotten over her fear of dogs. After getting cover from the rain, he commented on how well she looked, recalling how down she was when they broke up. As she claimed that she already got over him, stating that other men were already interested in her, she asked him if he came to win her back. Claiming that wasn't it, he asked her for the recipe for her omelet was. After she said that in order to bring out the flavor, you need to add poison, Otoya went with it. As he went about, dancing in the rain and puddles with an umbrella, he proclaimed to Yuri that he was glad to have met her. Before leaving, he claimed that she always looked best with a smile, and told her to get home before she got sick just as he predicted the rain would stop.
Later on, knowing that he dropped them during his fight with King, Otoya sought out Jiro, Ramon and Riki. As they watched on as Doran was going berserk without occupants, Otoya appeared to them, suggesting they go in it. Claiming they had done some not so honest deeds in the past, he proposed they do something to change that. As Jiro inquired as to what Otoya had in mind, he told them that he'd have a son. Claiming that he wouldn't have much guidance in his life, Otoya expressed his desire in Jiro's help. As Jiro said that it wasn't wise to make promises between a Human and a Monster, he claimed they might break the promise or even eat the child. As they looked out into the distance, before he left, Otoya told him that his son's life was then on in Jiro's care.

As the day progressed, Otoya stood over a grill in a local park. Serving Maya an omelet, Otoya proclaimed that above anything else, his love should show through all the way till the end. As both of them knew what that was, they stepped away from their picnic. As he played the song he wrote for her, they each listened to not only the music he played, but the music inside each other. Even after he stopped playing, they still listened to one another, even as he layed on her lap. And like this they stayed, just as Otoya slowly slipped off, and allowed himself to finally let go into an eternal slumber.
Antics in 2008
Prior to Wataru's time travel, Otoya's re-emergence pertain to past events that were overwritten, thus resulting in Otoya's complete lack of knowledge over his son's existence.
Mysteriously waking in his home, Otoya immediately noticed three strangers in his presence. Believing them to be thieves, he then took quite the interest in the middle of the three, believing her to be quite attractive. Springing from bed, he immediately proclaimed that she was free to steal his heart. However he unfortunately blanked out. Later on he came to when he noticed some highschool kid's fist had met his face. Shaking the boy's hand away, he declared the two things he despised in the world, engagement and idiotic kids. After elegantly taking care of the three boys, Otoya took notice of the young girl praising his deed. Stating that she was a bit too young for his tastes, he quickly plucked an apple from her grocery bag as told her to call him in about ten years.

Later on prancing about in a local mall, simply enjoying life and the apple he took earlier, Otoya started to notice himself. First wearing odd clothing, and then seeing that he didn't even have his own face. He quickly found a discarded newspaper which the date read as June 2008. Has he sat confused, unable to comprehend as to what had happened, he is then approached by two girls handing out a pamphlet.
The pamphlet being for a Maid Cafe, Otoya decided to go to it. While being hand fed by two maids, Otoya couldn't help but comment to himself that the kind of establishment was just for him and that the times had changed quite to his liking. However before he could indulge further in his borderline hedonistic treatment, he suddenly blacked out.
Shortly coming back to, he calmly found himself in an underground parking lot, with a member of the Kivat race flying around him. As the small creature constantly keept calling out for a Wataru, Otoya simply swated him away, claiming to know no such person by any such name.
Eventually after making his way into a woodland area, Otoya arrived at the end of a fight with the Ladybug Fangire. After expressing his surprise that the Fangires still survive after 20 years, the Fangire let out a blast of energy, distracting him so it could escape. After seeing the female stranger from before lying on the ground, he couldn't help but notice she had something very familiar in hand.
Returning home, Otoya decided to carve out the proper shaping proportions of the front and back sides of a violin. As the Kivat from before entered through the window, Otoya curiously asked if he was the son of Kivat Bat II. Kivat shocked as to how he knew that, demanded to know who he was. After introducing himself, the Kivat was only put into a further state of confusion. However Otoya simply concluded that it was simply the heavens deciding to have fun and play a trick on him.
Later heading over to the hospital, he decided to see the stranger form before. Entering her room, he made it blatantly apparent that he was in possession of IXA. Teasing her with it, he continuously hanged it in front of her beyond her reach till she mentioned her wanting to complete what her mother wanted to do. This ringing some bells, he immediately mentioned Yuri to the girl. After she claimed Yuri to be her mother, he finally recognized her as Megumi and let her have IXA. After some further wisecracking, he eventually diagnosed her with having a damaged spirit. After claiming she had no will to fight using IXA, she immediately commanded him to leave.
The next day, finding Megumi, trying to rehabilitate herself, Otoya showed off his new threads he bought off the "inter-net". As he encouraged her to return to normal living, Megumi shrugged off his suggestions, still determined to return to her proper condition. After being asked who he was, he simply replied that he was a messenger of love. However despite her determination, Otoya still tailed her. Following her to an indoor swimming pool, he advised her once again (from a lounge chair surrounded by flotation devices) to give up and return to a normal life.

Still trailing Megumi, he met up with her again in the middle of a track field. Rolling up next to her on a small bicycle, he inquired as to how long she was going to put up with her situation. Still acting adamant on what she wanted, Otoya remarked on how troublesome she was, once again revealing to be in possession of IXA. Yet despite her command to have it back, he ignored her. Rolling up to a metal waste can with a bonfire inside, the dangled IXA over it. Claiming that the device is the source of her pain, he droped it in. Megumi desperate to get IXA, immediately jumped to her feet kicked over the fire containing can over. After she retrieved IXA, he then made her realize. She did not have what it took to use IXA, and because of that, her condition was all in her head. Standing before her, he telld her she only has two paths of life to choose from. That of normalcy, or that of a fighter. After commenting that she resembled Yuri, he encouraged her to choose quickly, as the two the Ladybug Fangire took earlier don't have much time.
Following her to the Ladybug Fangire's hideout, Otoya watched on as Megumi held her own against him. Pointing out to himself that she and Yuri are both truly alike, forever walking their own paths as warriors. Further on witnessing as she willingly handed over IXA to it's current user, Otoya concluded that she accepted her position and her weaknesses. After wishing Megumi luck, Otoya left the scene and finally passed on, helping out the Aso family for one last time.
