Character synopsis

Although he is first shown in episode two and used as the Garulu Saber in episode 4 on the 2008 side of the story, Jiro's debut is not till episode five in the 1986 side. During an attempt of Otoya trying to woo Yuri, Jiro appears from the background and literally throws him out of Mald'amour. Soon afterward, he challenged the cafe's owner, Kido, to decide the price of his coffee. If it was bad, he wouldn't pay. If it was good, then it was Jiro's choice of payment. After thoroughly taking in the sent of the blend, he drank it all down in one gulp and paid 200 yen over the original 800 price.
Some time later, he listened in on Otoya and Shima's discussion of rescuing Yuri and entrance into the "Wonderful Blue Sky Organization". He followed and assisted Otoya in Yuri's rescue by leading him to her place of captivity, claiming he could not hate a man who would risk himself for the woman he cares for, and then parted ways. Back at the cafe, thinking over his previous actions, he went straight back to and fought Itoya Ryo (the Spider Fangire) before he could consummate his ritual with Yuri. Taking the fight to a far enough distance, Jiro made use of his true form and wounded Itoya enough to the point of fleeing from the scuffle.
After Yuri's rescue, Shima had requested that they use Jiro as bait as they believed Fangires were targeting those who dined at Mald'amour. He also asked that Jiro become a member of the Wonderful Blue Sky Organization on the account of Yuri's recommendation for rescuing her. However, unbeknownst to them, it was not Fangires targeting the regular customers of Mald'amour. It was revealed that it was in fact Jiro himself consuming their souls as he found the taste mixed with Mald'amour's coffee to be enjoyable. Yet despite that, he believed that Yuri's "guarding" would eventually expose him. Luckily Ramon's coincidental appearance and Jiro fending him off of Yuri eliminated whatever trail there was.
With his participation in their investigation and rescuing Yuri twice under his belt, Jiro was accepted as a member of the Wonderful Blue Sky Organization. His first mission as a member was to obtain the Black Star Violin as recent owners of the instrument have mysteriously died. While attempting to buy it in auction on the behalf of the organization along with Yuri, Otoya unfortunately had stepped in increasing the bid, making it difficult to obtain the Black Star. However with permission from Shima, Jiro rendered Otoya unconscious, allowing Yuri to close the bid.
Heading back, Yuri expressed her interest as to why a Fingire had interest in the violin. Allowing her curiosity to get the better of her, She decided to play. Jiro at first surprised that she could, was soon met with only hight pitch screeching, which caused him to move away. With Otoya arriving, demanding to have the violin, Jiro had once again K.O.ed him as he tried to take the Black Star.

When the Frog Fangire made his appearance for the Black Star, Jiro rushed in to confront him. At first working in tandem with Yuri, the Fangire's explosive projectiles halted their assault. but as th Fangire fled, Jiro gave chase. Cutting the Fangire off, Jiro transformed into his true form to better fight the Fangire. Easily proving to be the better combatant, Jiro forced the Frog Fangire to retreat to the water. But soon was met with another creature, Ramon, the young Mermen from the other night and Riki. Being questioned as to why he sided with humans, Jiro claimed that he wishes to use them to rid himself of the Fangires. Further bringing up that as the other two were last living members of the Mermen and Franken species, they should join him in using humans since they suffered genocide at the hands of the Fangires like the Wolfen did.
Fortunately in Jiro's case, after finding out that Otoya had seen him in his true form, it didn't matter. His attempts to tell others were meerely ignored and thought of as jealous ramblings. Especially in the eyes of Yuri who's affection for Jiro had grown to the point of her believing Otoya was being childish. This oddly even allowed Jiro to find that he and Kido were both fans of Onyanko Club, especially it's 32nd member, Yamamoto Susan Kumiko.
After the Frog Fangire attacked again for the Black Star, Jiro arrived on the scene. His appearance scaring the Fnagire away, likely due to their last scuffle. However in the confusion of the fight, Otoya had managed to take the Black Star. Fortunately Jiro was able to catch up to him. Inquiring if Otoya wanted to be bait, Otoya replied by asking that since Jiro was a Fangire, then why does he hunt and kill Fangires. Jiro immediately claimed not to be a Fangire, but something similar. As he made a move to halt Otoya, he pickpocketed Jiro's Fangire-slayer blade and warned him not to go near Yuri. But with that said, Jiro was handed back his weapon and allowed Otoya to leave.
At some point, Jiro had volunteered to be the wearer of the IXA system. Using it to once a gain save Yuri, Jiro successfully defeated the Earwig Fangire. However his using it did not put him on Yuri's good side as she believed that since IXA was designed by her mother, it rightfully belonged to her. After being begged by Otoya, and then Yuri for IXA did Jiro give in to the debilitating side effects of IXA's use. It wasn't till then that he explained that he was acting as IXA's beta tester. Using it so that the bugs were worked out and refining the system for Yuri's use. Asking her for support, Yuri agreed to let him use IXA till it was complete.
Sometime after his hospital release, he checked in on Ramon and Riki. Discovering that they're making a living in shoe polishing and as a masseur. Chiding them for trying to blend in with humanity and hiding from the Fangires. They responded by stating that the three of them are the last of their respective species. If they die, then they're extinct. But Jiro stated otherwise, believing himself to be different. He then wildly professed that he intended to bring the Wolfens back from the brink of extinction. Paving the way for his children to seize control of the land and restoring the Wolfens to their former power.

At a later time during the stalking of his next meal, Otoya caught up with him. Claiming not to be just out for Yuri, but to guard all human women, he suggested that Jiro stay away form human women and find himself a "monster woman" instead. Needless to say, this struck a huge nerve with Jiro as he then gave Otoya a vicious beating, dropping the IXA-knuckle in the process. He eventually caught up with the woman he had been after and proceeded to drain her of her soul, only to once again find Otoya standing by again.
As the two engage in conversation, Otoya inquired if Jiro plans to eat Yuri. But Jiro claims that he doesn't and has bigger plans for her. Further stating that she's to be the catalyst for return of the Wolfen race. Being that she's a strong woman, she'll bear strong children. And that above all else, she loves him. With that said, Otoya reacted with a head-but that sent Jiro a few steps back.
With the fight looking pretty much in Jiro's favor thanks to his superior abilities as a Wolfen. Otoya finally pulled out the IXA-Knuckle, much to Jiro's angry surprise and transformed. After the failed attempt of attacking in his disguise, Jiro decided to let loose and fight him in his true form. However, his blind rage mixed with IXA's superior power proved to be not enough and was forced to retreat after just barely dodging a hit form the IXA-knuckle.
After reporting to Shima of the theft of IXA by Otoya. Yuri only thought even lower of Otoya. Shima expressed disappointment in Jiro when he told him that not only did Otoya take IXA, but used it against him as well. Fortunately, Kido promptly spoke in Jiro's defense. Claiming that those who drink Mald'amour's coffee and is an Onyanko fan couldn't possibly be bad.
When listening in to Yuri and Otoya's conversation at Riki and Ramon's Booth from the rafters above, Jiro requested a favor from Ramon. Later that day, Jiro met up with Otoya in a woodland area when Oyoya was suffering the effects of IXA. He offered Otoya the chance to hand back IXA in exchange for a quick death, which Otoya turned down. Soon both men transformed and duked it out. With Otoya's having the upper hand, the tables were immediately turned with Ramon's arrival. The two monsters double-teamed Otoya till IXA's overheating point and deactivation. But just as the Killing blow as to be dealt, Yuri came along looking for Otoya. With Ramon quickly retreating to the bushes, Jiro transformed into his human guise, making himself look as though he found Otoya. When Yuri asked as to what happened, Jiro simply replied that Otoya was defeated by a Fangire and was unable to correctly use IXA.
Returning to their booth, he thanked Ramon for helping him get back IXA. The young Merman not in the similar spirits, told Jiro to not bring him into those situations. Reminding him that He and Riki wish to not risk exposure to the Fangire and that they're the last of their kinds. Causing Jiro to think back to the sight of his vanquished friends and family, and the face of the one who killed them. Unfortunately, whatever easy time he had now that Otoya was out of the way wouldn't last.

With a new Fangire catching prey in odd patterns turns up, Jiro was assigned with Yuri to eliminate it. After following Yuri around as they decided to use her as bait for the Fangire, Jiro eventually caught up to Yuri after claiming that she saw the man who killed her mother. Seeing that he had apparently delivered her a beating, Jiro intervened. When he took a moment and got a look at his would be opponent, Jiro soon discovered that it was none other than Rook of The Checkmate Four. In a ferocious rage, proclaiming his desire of revenge for his people, Jiro attacked the mighty Fangire. Unfortunately, this proved highly futile as he was completely outclassed by Rook, both in his true form and as IXA. This prompted Jiro to retreat, and again, drop the IXA-Knuckle.
When Otoya was released from the hospital, Jiro came out to seek his help. Claiming that it's for the sake of Yuri because she was to blinded by vengeance for her mother to see that Rook is far beyond her league. Otoya agreed to help. Eventually, after retireving the IXA Knuckle from Yuri, they caught up with Rook in the middle of his latest "Time Play" game. As Jiro made use of IXA and engaged Rook, he was only to be quickly dealt with once more. With a short interruption from Yuri, Rook K.O.ed her and the fight resumed with Otoya donning IXA and Jiro reverting to his true form. But even with Otoya's help, Rook still dominated them. Fortunately, they were literally saved by the bell when Rook realized that he failed to complete his latest game, and left to punish himself for his failure.
Sometime later in Mald'amour. Otoya, while "teaching" his new violin student, challenged Jiro over ownership of IXA as he apparently managed to get it back from Otoya after their fight with Rook. To that end, they take the match to a game of Billiards. With Jiro clearly being far more skilled in the game than Otoya, it seemed like the game was all his until he botched his winning shot. Fortunately, for Otoya, his one shot accidentally caused him to win the match. Much to Jiro's dismay, he proclaimed they should go again. Even though the second match started, Otoya had left shortly after to fetch his now bored student all the while Jiro stayed behind and obsessively continued by himself.
After hearing from Yuri of her recent encounter with Rook, and the requesting of IXA, he flat out refused. Even her mentioning wanting revenge for her mother, he still denied her IXA, stating that she'd be no match for him. Even Otoya backed him Jiro on his points, even though they were feeble minor attempts to hit on Yuri. With a frustrated Yuri leaving, Otoya presented Jiro with a little something. This something being an autograph of Yamamoto Suzan Kumiko, much to Jiro and Kido's crazed delight. However after pealing off a tag that blatantly said "Do not remove", they were soon met with dread. After being blatantly tricked by Otoya, Jiro then realized why. To steal IXA.

Sometime after Jiro had been keeping a distanced eye on Yuri and Otoya, Jiro decided to talk to Yuri alone. Fearing the possible scenario that Ramon and Riki brought up the night before, Jiro was convinced that now was the time. After showing her the ring he procured for her, he asked for Yuri's hand in marriage. Claiming that when he first saw her, they were destined to be with one another. Noticing some hesitation from her, he quickly slipped the ring on her finger. Yuri thinking that it's so all of the sudden brings up what Shima's opinion on the subject would be. But luckily Jiro claimed to had already brought the matter to his attention. As he made his way off, he simply told Yuri that there was no need to make a speedy decision. If she wanted out, the all she had to do was take the ring off.
After notifying Otoya of the engagement and meeting a friend of Yuri's, it was decided (out of the suggestion of Yuri's friend) to go on a group date. Splitting the date between three women and three men, one of whom being Otoya, one of the other women, Ayumi, pointed out that Jiro and Yuri really shouldn't be there since they were engaged. However just as Jiro was about to confirm it, Otoya quickly punched his gut and corrected the previous statement as the two were not yet engaged. Quickly after though, Jiro raised Yuri's hand and pointed out the engagement ring. As Otoya tried to express his opinion on the matter further, Jiro quickly kicked his shin under the table with a fork wedged between his toes.
As the date progressed, Ayumi had commented on Jiro's looks and attitude. Sparking some jealousy in Yuri she had grabbed Ayumi by the shoulder and told her not to speak of her fiance ins such a way. Yuri referring to him as such greatly exited him. However as he asked her if she had really accepted his proposal, Otoya bumped in and claimed that she didn't mean it. With Yuri agreeing, this angered Jiro as he soon tried to deliver a kick to Otoya. However as Otoya caught Jiro's kick, the two maniacally laughed at one another.
Later on after Riki had left due to insufficiently pleasing his hunger, Otoya and Jiro continued in their little bouts against one another. After wining an arm wrestling match, Jiro took notice in the other woman's, Kumi, interest in Otoya. After trying to put a good word in for Otoya, he expressed his discomfort in being praised by the likes of Jiro, who likewise didn't quite find it enjoyable to be praising Otoya.
Sometime later, Jiro decided to treat Yuri to a special gift for their marriage. Taking her to the clothing store, Luxur, he offered her anything in the store, despite everything in it being considerable expensive. As Jiro pointed out that she could even purchase a wedding dress from the shop, the two then noticed Kumi in the store as well, but didn't make themselves noticed.
Later on as it was discovered that recent customers of Luxur had recently turned up dead, Jiro headed out with Yuri as they believed to have had a solid lead. Luckily it was as they found the Chameleon Fangire about to take it's next victim. Unfortunately, however, the victim was none other than Otoya who had set up his own little trap for the Fangire. After Yuri had warded off the Fangire, Jiro outright, yet jokingly claimed that they really weren't aiming to save him.

The next day Yuri spoke to Jiro about her answer to his marriage proposal. As she professed that even though it wasn't that she didn't like him, she just didn't wish to marry. When Jiro expressed curiosity as to why, whether it was because of some kind of womanly pride or because of her fighting the Fangires, she didn't quite give a straight answer. But as she attempted to remove the ring, he then claimed that it was pointless, that they were bonded by fate. However an unbelieving Otoya, who had apparently been near by, then easily removed the ring for her. After stating that Jiro and Yuri had no bond between them, Otoya then casted the ring into the near by lake, much to Jiro's dismay.
Sometime later as Kido made his way into Mald'amour, Jiro and Yuri ganged up on him. Dragging him to a nearby table, they, in a rather unique way, celebrated Kido's birthday. After his blowing out the candles to small cake, the two each presented their gifts to him. Yuri's being a shirt with a Sumo wrestler and Jiro's being a recent album of Onyanko Club's, complete with autographs from various members. As Jiro had to practically shove Kido off from hugging him, Otoya took the liberty to bring up that his birthday was coming up soon. After being asked what he wanted, he was stopped short when Yuri said it to be anything but her. This amusing Jiro, noted on how predictable Otoya's patterns were becoming. After he started throwing out possible gift ideas such as noogies or worms, Yuri recalled Otoya's eating omelets quite often.
After a situation with Otoya's antics causing Yuri to give Jiro the cold shoulder, Jiro approached once again applauding Otoya's performance. After asking if Yuri's omelet was good, Otoya answered with asking if that Jiro was jealous of it. Not quite affected by the remark, Jiro expressed that he was happy that Otoya had an enjoyable last meal. Proclaiming that Otoya was in his way, Jiro then reverted to his true Wolfen form. After he mauled Otoya, despite whatever attempts he made to fight back, Jiro stopped for a bit to savor the moment. After saying some last goodbyes to him, Jiro threw Otoya into the river, believing him to be dead and that Yuri was finally all for the taking.
After Riki had tried to profess his feelings to Yuri blatantly through instruction from Otoya, Jiro went on to claim that Otoya had left. However as Yuri refused to believe, he then tried to lie by saying that a Fangire had killed him instead. Yuri still not buying it demanded to know where Otoya was. But not feeling in the mood for anything that had to do with Otoya, Jiro simply knocked her unconscious.
After taking her into the forest and tying her up, Yuri questioned Jiro on what he was planning. Jiro proclaimed that where they were was their new home from that point on. But after she once again asked where Otoya was, Jiro exploded with a mixture of rage and desperation as he furiously asked Yuri why she couldn't understand what he was trying to do.

A little later as Jiro was trying to embrace Yuri, Otoya showed up and pulled him off. Enraged by Otoya's survival, Jiro reverted to his true form as he tried to free Yuri of her restraints and attacked. Once again overpowering Otoya, Jiro had beaten him down till Yuri got free and came to his aid, despite Otoya telling her not to get in the way. But after she confessed of her feelings for Otoya in front of Jiro, he held her up and claimed that if he couldn't have her, then no one could. Yet despite what he said, ready to strike her down, he couldn't bring himself to do it. Distraught from the recent events that had occurred, Jiro released her, assumed his guise and left the two behind.
Sometime later after making another failed attempt to kill Rook, Jiro sought out the help of Ramon and Riki. Coincidentally, Otoya was also present, but let himself under the impression that Jiro was asking for his help. After Jiro actually asked for Otoya's help, thinking that IXA would be useful, Otoya questioned Ramon and Riki's usefulness. As the two of them briefly revealed their true forms, much to a startled Otoya's surprise, he then stated that the problems of monsters were the business of monsters, and ran for it. But as Jiro also stated that killing Rook was also for Yuri, he stopped. Agreeing to help, Otoya did so under one condition: to leave Yuri in the dark about the whole ordeal.
Later on as the two walked through the park, Otoya inquired as to what Jiro's plan was against Rook. After simply stating that it was combining four lesser powers to equal and overcome one great power, Otoya congratulated Jiro for coming up with a short and sweet plan, yet insulted him by claiming he had a lesser brain. As the two bickered with each other over who had more smarts, Rook appeared. After Otoya blamed his finding them because of Jiro, they then both ran under Jiro's suggestion.
Unfortunately their retreat was halted as Rook caught up rather quickly. When he attacked, Jiro pushed Otoya out of the way and took a short beating from Rook. After bouncing back, Jiro came to Yuri's aid, who apparently got involved in the scuffle. Remembering Rook's latest game objective, Jiro pulled out a new pair of shades and ran off, causing Rook to follow.
Later on after fooling Yuri into chasing Riki in a mock-up Rook outfit, Jiro Ramon and Otoya found Rook elsewhere and were soon joined by Riki. Each individual wearing sunglasses, this provoked Rook into fighting them as his game was not yet finished. As everyone performed their respective transformations and engaged Rook, not a one of them even landed a decent hit on the mighty Fangire. Despite all their combined strength, Rook was still able to outclass Otoya and the trio of monsters, forcing them all to fall before him at the same time, just as his game ended.
Regrouping back at Otoya's, Jiro and the monsters were mocked by Otoya for losing to Rook. As they were at a loss of what to do, Yuri proclaimed that she had an Idea. As Jiro and Otoya later pretended to chase Yuri through a warehouse with IXA, they ran into Rook, asking them if they knew of anything amusing to do. Yuri claiming that there was, she showed him the IXA Knuckle, claiming that it was more important to her than her own life, and that Otoya and Jiro wanted to take it. After Rook inquired if it was really that great and Yuri complied, he took it for himself, activating IXA.

After then being joined by Ramon and Riki, everyone acted as though they were losing to Rook as IXA weighted his strength down since he was technically stronger than the System. But luckily, IXA's overheating point was finally reached and deactivated. Fooling Rook into being weakened by the system's harmful effects, this gave everyone the shot they needed to deliver Rook the beating they've all been working towards. As the tide of battle was entirely against Rook, Yuri look the liberty to finally finish him off.
Sometime later, after warning Otoya of his excessive interaction with a Fangire. Jiro made his way through town. As he came upon an open lot, Jiro suddenly felt a dark prescience. After looking around, Jiro then noticed a man standing on a flight of stairs. After getting a good look at him, Jiro recognized him as none other than the King of the Fangires. As he proclaimed his desire to eliminate Jiro as a meddler in the affairs of the Fangires, he summoned a member of the Kivat Race, and transformed into Kiva. Despite trying to defend himself, Jiro was completely overpowered by a monster far above his own capabilities and was lucky enough to escape.
Knowing that King went for him directly, Jiro then raced to find Ramon and Riki just as they had encountered King together. However despite their trying to attack him together, they were forced to retreat as they were just about to attack.
Sometime later after trying to strike back at King through going after Queen, and losing to her in battle, the trio found themselves once again on the run. As King cornered them into a mist filled forest, he proclaimed that there was only one road for the likes of them to follow; extinction. As Jiro and the others prepared to fight him, King released one light blast from his tattoo, forcing them all on their backs to the ground. As the three seemed to lose hope in their situation, King proposed that he'd allow and alternative under one condition, to kill Kurenai Otoya.
Not wanting his race to be completely extinct, Jiro had no choice but to accept the offer. With that, Jiro walked into Otoya's bathroom as he was bathing. After Otoya demanded to know why he was there, Jiro claimed that in exchange for the help Otoya had given him before, he was repaying the favor by scrubbing his back. As Otoya turned to face him, saying that had he invited him in he'd be allowed, Jiro immediately turned him back and commenced scrubbing. Reverting to his true form, he quietly asked that Otoya forgive him as he he prepared to kill the human. However as Otoya found Jiro's scrubbing enjoyable, he commented on how good it was to bathe with another, and how it was a good means of bonding with friends. touched by Otoya actually referring to him as a friend, he then turned turned away, crying. As Otoya turned to see Jiro weeping in his true form and asked what was wrong, Jiro merely claimed that he got soap in his eye, and motioned for Otoya to scrub his back.
Knowing that Ramon and Riki also failed, the three monsters met with each other an a small path in a woodland area. With only one option now left for them to choose, the had to flee. Knowing King would hunt them, they each went their separate ways. Making it more difficult for King to find them.

However with the knowledge that Otoya saw Jiro as a firend, he decided to turn back and face King, knowing he'd go to kill Otoya himself. Tracking them down to an abandoned warehouse, Jiro tried to get the jump on King as he was distracted with Otoya. However as King was apparently aware of Jiro's ambush, he directed a small blast of energy at Jiro instead. After being kicked away and reverted to his true form, Jiro resumed attacking. However, after yet again being hit away by King, he transformed into Kiva. As Jiro got to his feet, King had then made use of a fustle, sealing Jiro into a more compact imprisoned form.
Sometime later, after inexplicably finding themselves outside of Doran and fleeing, Jiro, Ramon and Riki were approached by Otoya as they watched on as Doran was going berserk without occupants. As Jiro noticed that Otoya was dying but acting as though he were fine, Otoya suggested they go in it. Otoya recalling their not so honest methods in their activities in the past, he proposed they do something to change that. As Jiro inquired as to what Otoya had in mind, he told them that he'd have a son. Claiming that he wouldn't have much guidance in his life, Otoya expressed his desire in Jiro's help. As Jiro said that it wasn't wise to make promises between a Human and a Monster, he claimed they might break the promise or even eat the child. As they looked out into the distance, Otoya told him that his son's life was then on in Jiro's care. Turning to acknowledge the Human, he had finally disappeared.
As the Garulu Saber
Prior to Wataru's time travel, certain other events lead to Jiro's eventual entrance into Caslte Doran and the taking the Arms Monster title Garulu. Whatever these events were have since been negated, but are listed referencing them otherwise

At some point between the 22 year gap. Jiro, along with Riki and Ramon, make a Darkness pledge with Kurenai Otoya. This contract extended to the use of Otoya's son, Wataru, to become the Garulu Saber. Influencing Wataru with his wild and rash personality and bestowing the monster's fighting skill onto him as well. During the time of the pledge, Jiro acts as Castle Doran's caretaker, but seemingly spends all his time playing Riki and Ramon in various games to kill time while not being used in battle.
As far as the series has shown, he is the first of the Arms Monsters to leave the castle in the twenty years they've been in it. As well as being the first to have been taken (via fustle) by IXA's current user, Nago Keisuke, against Kiva. Among the three, Jiro is the most adamant to stay true to his pledge with Otoya. As shown when Wataru was taken into Caslte Doran to recuperate, Riki and Ramon mentioned the possibility of simply eating Wataru to be free again, but Jiro quickly reminded the two of their pledge.
When current members of the Wonderful Blue Sky Org were being framed and arrested for various crimes, Jiro once again showed his resolve to uphold a special promise he made with Otoya. Not only serve as an Arms Monster, but to protect the Blue Sky Org. But being restricted to Castle Doran, Jiro couldn't do much. So he decided to use Nago to send through the door of time within Doran so as to rewrite history and prevent the then would be blunder at the hands of Otoya which caused the Organization the trouble it went though.
When the Zanvat sword appeared in a wall within Doran when Wataru unlocked Flight Form, He soon called for Wataru to see if he could claim the sword, as evidenced of Ramon and Riki failing to take it for themselves. After Wataru had failed to take it the first time, Jiro approached Wataru again to give him another chance at power. After Wataru had finally done so, the sword caused his Fangire side to send him into a raging bloodlust. After dodging and trying to free Wataru from the swords influence, Jiro, Ramon and Riki then combined to become the Zanvat-Bat. Inhibiting the sword's power over Wataru.
